The Buddies entrench themselves into the World War 1 literary classic All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque. The book was pretty depressing and not all that easy to joke about, so the buddies stuck to more serious topics like going to the bathroom in public, post work clothes, rats, and awful teachers. The movie just hit Netflix as well, so the Buddies help cast the movie (if it were in English).
