  • Funding Cold Cases - A Critical Piece of Justice Part 1

Brad Schleppi is a dedicated advocate for justice and the executive director of Season of Justice, a nonprofit dedicated to providing funding for investigative agencies and families to help solve cold cases. He has over 22 years of nonprofit management experience and a degree in criminal justice and sociology from Indiana University.

At the forefront of justice and truth-seeking lies a realm where science and compassion converge. In this episode of All Things Crime, Jared Bradley interviews Brad Schleppi, the executive director of Season of Justice. Brad shares his background in non-profit management and criminal justice, highlighting the organization's mission to bridge the funding gap faced by investigative agencies in solving cold cases.

One of the biggest obstacles faced by law enforcement agencies is a lack of funding to access advanced forensic technologies. Season of Justice aims to counter this challenge by providing financial support to investigative agencies across the United States and even extending its reach to Canada. By funding grants for over a million dollars to more than 150 cases, Season of Justice ensures that cutting-edge forensic science is accessible to agencies working on cold cases.

They also emphasize collaboration with investigative agencies, allowing them to identify their specific needs in solving cold cases, and ensuring that the correct tools and technologies are allocated to the cases to maximize their chances of success.

With advancements in forensic science, evidence that has been stored away for decades can finally yield answers. Season of Justice's support enables law enforcement agencies to reexamine old evidence using advanced technologies, leading to breakthroughs and solved cases.

This episode delves into Season of Justice's revolution in the fight against cold cases by providing crucial funding for cutting-edge forensic science. Through collaboration with investigative agencies and the application of advanced technologies, Season of Justice is making a significant impact in solving long-standing mysteries.

    Takeaways

    1. Season of Justice aids underfunded law agencies.
    2. Effective collaboration ensures optimal resource allocation per case.

  • Horrors of Child Sex Trafficking ft. Paul Hutchinson Part 4

In part 4 of this series of All Things Crime, Jared continues his conversation with Paul Hutchinson, a passionate advocate fighting to end child sex trafficking. Paul's insights shed light on the importance of spirituality as a solution to this heartbreaking issue. He emphasizes the need to reconnect with God and listen to the inner voice of truth within each of us.

Paul's upcoming book, "Are You Listening?" explores the power of staying attuned to our spiritual connection and the impact it can have on eradicating child trafficking. Through his experiences in rescuing children and investigating trafficking operations, Paul has learned the value of following intuition and guidance, rather than relying solely on logic and protocol.

One key lesson from this episode is the significance of forgiveness and self-growth in the fight against child trafficking. Paul encourages listeners to release past traumas, forgive themselves, and embrace personal growth.

Another important takeaway is the need for awareness regarding media influence. Paul highlights the contrast between his movie, "Sound of Freedom," which aims to raise awareness about child trafficking but faced distribution challenges, and content like the controversial TV series "Cuties." It raises crucial questions about the motives and morals behind the content consumed by society.

It is in our hands to create a world free from the darkness of child trafficking. By reconnecting with our spirituality, practicing forgiveness, and critically assessing the media we consume, we can contribute to the fight against exploitation and protect the most vulnerable among us. Remember, together we can make a difference and bring an end to child sex trafficking.

    Takeaways

    1. Take time to reflect on your spiritual connection.
    2. Practice forgiveness, both towards yourself and others.
    3. Be mindful of the media content you consume.

  • Horrors of Child Sex Trafficking ft. Paul Hutchinson Part 3

In part 3 of this All Things Crime series, we continue our conversation with Paul Hutchinson, who is dedicated to fighting against the heinous crime of child sex trafficking. We delve deeper into his experiences and gain further insight into the dark world of this insidious industry.

Unlike homicides, where the pain ends with the victim's demise, the trauma endured by a survivor of child sex trafficking lingers, affecting not just their own lives but also possibly future generations.

One surprising revelation shared by Paul is the involvement of women in holding and controlling the children being trafficked. Contrary to popular belief, these women play an instrumental role in perpetuating the cycle of abuse. Some were once victims themselves, manipulated and groomed into becoming accomplices.

As we near the end of this eye-opening series, it becomes evident that ending child sex trafficking necessitates a collective effort. We must educate ourselves, raise awareness, and support organizations and initiatives dedicated to combating this abomination. Let us stand together, united in the fight against child sex trafficking, and strive to create a world where every child is protected and cherished.

Paul Hutchinson is an executive producer of “The Sound of Freedom” movie, where it highlights the story of a former homeland security agent and the rescue of over 120 victims in Colombia from a child trafficking organization. Paul also started The Child Liberation Foundation, and has now led or played a key role in over 70 undercover rescue missions in 15 countries. He is well known around the world for his philanthropic and charity contributions.

    Takeaways

    1. Child sex trafficking inflicts lasting damage on victims.
    2. Traffickers often attempt to justify their actions.
    3. A significant percentage of those involved in physically controlling trafficked children.
