In this episode of All1nclusive Tracy and Meenal praise Disney for their selection of a black actress to play Ariel in the new live action movie of Little Mermaid. They discuss how the release of the trailer was targeted by internet trolls criticising the casting of a black actress with claims it wasn't authentic to the character in the original Hans Christian Andersen story while others posted on social media capturing the joyful reactions of little black children seeing the trailer for the first time. A similar reaction was also discussed to the new Lord of the Rings, Ring of Power Series as a backlash explodes online because of people of colour appearing as central characters, like Dwarves and Elves - again suggesting that this is not authentic.
There's also praise for Kids shows Bluey and Peppa Pig. Who add new characters Dougie the deaf Cavoodle who signs and Penny Polar Bears Two Mummies. So refreshing and while long overdue they hope this will inspire other studios and TV shows to do the same.
Ever felt like you don't fit in? Meenal shares her personal experience about what it's like growing up in a white Australia, admitting why she didn't find it easy to celebrate the fact that she was Fiji Indian something she down- played to make life easier.

This is a big deal not just for women in India but for women all over the world.
