This week brings the MAGICK of the Heart of Winter, celebrating the Celtic festival of IMBOLC on Feb 2 & a New Moon in Aquarius on Wednesday morning!

Something is stirring, deep beneath the blanket of snow on Earth’s surface. The Snowdrops are preparing to push thru the soil, a signal of Spring soon to come.

Imbolc; in the belly of the Mother. A harbinger of Hope, as a memory of the Future. New beginnings warming themselves underneath the surface, germinating, preparing for new life to unfurl.

Imbolc marks the halfway point between the Winter Solstice & Spring Equinox, welcoming the Liminality of this Wintering time. What is available to us, in the deep dreamstate of winter? Of course this aligns with the season of the Fixed Air sign Aquarius, initiating us into the visioning process of dreaming a new world into being.

Imbolc is Feb 1/2, which just so happens to be days after the Aquarius New Moon on Wednesday, Jan 29 at 7:32am EST. The word of the week; DREAMING POTENTIAL.

The Cancer Full Moon, as a vibe^.

Occuring on Moonday Jan 13 att 5:26pm EST, we have a BIG cancer full moon. Luna is in her power spot here, as the moon rules Cancer. Amplification of our emotional process, needs, and tending.

The added layer here is that Mars is making its way backwards thru Cancer, along its retrograde journey. This is NOT an easy movement. Mars does not have an easeful time in cancer, the sign of its fall. Depletion of the water element leads to exhaustion; a literal drought that allows for the fire element to burn too strong. Prayers for LA in how literal this impact is.

The Full Moon, IMO, is not necessary a tool for manifestation. It is a moment for truth illumination, to be VERY honest with ourselves where we’re at. Exhausted? Energized? Fluctuating? Reactive? Again, the most important piece is being honest with ourselves. This lunation holds the opportunity to ask for support, resource, and lubrication of what has become depleted. If you’re wiped out, ask your Ancestors for comfort + guidance. Don’t try to labor + overextend your emotional capacity, above all else.

The Nodal Axis also shifts on Saturday, Jan 11 — one of the biggest astrological shifts of 2025. This is where the Eclipses will bring us Karmic curriculum this year. Buckle up, as the Pisces/Virgo axis is about to get real with us.

Wow, my friends. Here we are. At the final threshold of 2024. What a year. May it go out with a bang, as heads hit pillows for deep winter rest. This prayer is one of integration, slowness, and a gently-held nervous system. May we find ways to give ourselves a moment of breath before entering the initiation that is 2025.

In this week’s podcast, I offer some words about Devotion from a Capricornian lens. Satkara, truth in action.

Rather than New Year’s resolutions, I’m offering up New Year’s devotions. How do you show up for what you care about, at a heart level? How does this consistency transform you? How does it strengthen your trust in yourself?

This process is alchemical, fire turns to water as you shapeshift. Give yourself to it fully, and become anew from the ashes.

This is a perfect New Moon to end the year & prepare us for 2025. on Monday, December 30th @ 5:26pm EST, the Capricorn New Black Moon will peak, asking us what is required to build a strong + Steady foundation for our life moving forward. Delayed Gratification is a devotional practice in itself.

WINTER SOLSTICE + CAPRICORN SZN

Solstices + Equinoxes are the Time Turners. They are the ones who take the Great Wheel of Life, and initiate new cycles. The Winter Solstice marks the initiation of the Cailleach, the wise elder witch, Mother of Life + Death, the one who weighs our lives on the barren bones of our own survival. The one who knows what it takes to build a world, in the face of time and the dying light.

The Winter Solstice, in the Northern Hemisphere, initiates us into the Astrological Season of Capricorn. Grandfather Time, Saturn-ruled, the one who teaches us how to be a Good Ancestor — and that our integrity lies on whether or not we’re willing to show up for what we say we care about. Future Generations depend on this commitment; this is what it takes to build a world.

And so the Great Wheel of Time turns again into the Heart of the Cave, and the Great Bear welcomes us home to its quiet chambers. A time of reflection, digestion, integration — the torpor of the Bear’s sleep becomes our state of being, as we prepare to Dream a New World into being, come Springtime.

The Great Bear reminds us; WE MUST REST. We must slow. The landscape is barren, on purpose. There is nothing to stimulate our restless hearts, except the fire within. This time is Saturn-ruled, on purpose; isolation becomes a friend, to cultivate the truth of our own Wisdom. Wisdom is not born from doership, but from ample time spent in reflection, learning about our lives. The Elder does not earn wisdom from time alone; it is an investment in being life’s student, a lifelong commitment to responsibility, integrity, and deep listening.

But again, the wisdom is not in the doership — hence, there is nothing to “do” at this time, except greet the Great Bear spirit with its invitation into stillness. To face our own urgency (aka internalized capitalist / workaholic tendencies) is a feat in itself. Give yourself to the darkness, only to be reborn with the Sun’s returning light.

OKAY FAM. Big week! Last FULL MOON of 2024! Mercury stations direct on the SAME DAY!

On Sunday, December 15th at 4:01amEST, the full moon peaks at 23* of Gemini. It will be VERY close to Jupiter, currently retrograding in Gemini, and opposite its planetary ruler Mercury, who stations direct in SAG the same day as the full moon.

A lil topsy turvy, which way is up? Does it matter? Are riddles meant to be solved? Don’t girls just wanna have fun?

All of the above, and none of the above. Try not to take yourself too seriously. We’re all just trying to figure this thing out. A great big cosmic joke is well maneuvered with giving yourself GRACE. Find ways to laugh at the Mystery.

I’m thinking about Brené Brown’s work, specifically WHAT IS THE STORY I’M TELLING MYSELF? Fact check that Sh*t. It’s super helpful right now.

The moment presents the opportunity to replace fear-based narratives with optimistic, AFFIRMATIVE ones. Believe in yourself, my friend. You’ve made it thru 1000% of your most chaotic, overwhelming moments. Now take a breath and witness your capacity to move thru this one.
