What would you say you believe God thinks about you?
Is He angry with you?
Pleased?
Sad?
Excited?
What first comes to mind when you think about God’s feelings/thinking towards you? What if you were God's favorite - how would that change how you lived your life?

As we wrap up our series, we enter into once more to the description Yahweh gives of Himself - to invite us to know more about the heart and character of our God.

The LORD is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and great in faithful love.

God is not condemning or punishing you. God loves you - God takes pleasure in you. Without Jesus, we'd all be responsible to face the penalties of our sin because God is just. BUT we know because of the sacrifice of the cross we are forgiven by His mercy.

As we continue to study the name of Yahweh we continue to learn more about God's character... specifically the relentless love of God. 

5 The Lord came down in a cloud, stood with him there, and proclaimed His name (Yahweh) “the Lord.” 6 The Lord passed in front of Him and proclaimed: (Yahweh, Yahweh) is a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger and abounding in faithful love and truth, 7 maintaining faithful love to a thousand generations, forgiving iniquity, rebellion, and sin. But He will not leave the guilty unpunished, bringing the fathers’ iniquity on the children and grandchildren to the third and fourth generation. 

As Pastor Lee leads us in the Word today we are reminded of the convenient God made with Abraham - that he will bless him with many nations. That covenant was a contract and God has never backed away from it.  Despite all the relationship whoas and breakdowns, God has remained faithful to his promise. He's given us his name - his love - and continued to be with us throughout history. 

The invitation of the covenant that has been fulfilled in Jesus… that we would be blessed to be a blessing to all of the nations of the earth… means that God is GOING to set things right in the world. But, He’s going to do this through those that bear His NAME.

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts."  Isaiah 55:8

Sometimes, it can be hard for us to understand that God is love, and yet God speaks of righteous anger throughout His word.  Not an anger we should fear of our Father, but a justice that he's going to bring for His people. Yahweh - "gracious and compassionate, slow to anger (erek appayim), abounding in faithful love" 

As Pastor Ron shares with us more about the name and character of God, we encourage you continue to seek His heart as God reveals new aspects of who He is,  and His love for you.

Many of us struggle with the idea that any of this Jesus stuff is real. 

And, perhaps you’ve struggled with your own name or identity. (most of us have as well)

Do you feel as if words like failure, alone, unable are defining you? (again we can relate)

But this season we want one Word to fill our cup. HOPE. And Hope isn't a feeling - it's a promise from a God whose name is Yahweh and who is alive and working in your life and in our world.

God has a name... and it isn't God.

In Exodus, Moses stood before the Lord on the mountain and worshipped as He proclaimed:

The Lord - The Lord (YHWH, YHWH) is a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger and abounding in faithful love and truth, 7 maintaining faithful love to a thousand generations, forgiving iniquity, rebellion, and sin. Yahweh - Hope.

We're going through John Mark Comer's book, "God Has a Name." We're contributing the inspiration for this series, and much of our understanding on this topic, to Comer's work in this book. 

We encourage you to read along as we together process this profound truth and introduce ourselves again this Easter season to Yahweh, our Hope.

What can you give up that you can replace with opportunities to bring you closer to God?

What will you says no to in order to say yes to the call God has on your life?

As we continue to pursue the things of this world we continue to end up empty.. and dry. Even as we pursue good things that we know will help people, without God in the mix, our efforts will become burdens.

We need to pursue God continually - daily - in our alone time and in our community time. When we pursue God we lean on Him to provide direction, and purpose in our lives. We will never be left wanting while He is in control of our lives.

Detox is a process in which one abstains from or rids the body or mind of toxic or unhealthy substances. 

If there is anything that we can learn from the life of Jesus, it is that he spent a lot of time alone with God to renew his mind and his heart. 

Pastor Ron leads us in an understanding of Bible meditation... unlike many other forms of meditation that focus on self, Bible meditation focuses on the Word of God and His truths. 

Biblical meditation involves reading, contemplating, personalizing, visualizing, singing, and praying God’s Word. It is examining God’s Word from different perspectives. It is like placing the Word under a microscope instead of viewing it through a telescope.

As we close out our series on navigating this new world - we come to a point in the conversation that either makes or breaks one's trust in the church - the topic of GIVING.

God doesn't request our money as a tax we owe... or as a means of control. What God simply requests from us is our TRUST. A trust that we can hand over to him our lives and our finances, and He will take care of us. 

Generosity fueled by faith reorients our heart to God's heart. It brings us in alignment with His peace. Are we willing to give God what He really ultimately wants - our full hearts?

We are going to discover how to live in an overwhelming world without your head constantly feeling like it’s just one inch below the water. 

We're in Acts 2:42 this week learning about how the church then gathered together, devoting themselves to one another and to following Christ. 

How do we spend our time now? Is it focused on how we live and serve God, and love one another well - or is it focused on US? (Our desires, our needs, our wants and dreams....)

It's hard not to wish we were more like the church in Acts.. and it's hard not to blame other Christians why there is division within our faith. But if we can be honest, we too have a role in the disconnect with our fellow believers. 

Pastor Lee encourages us to ask, what is it we devote our lives to? Not to shame us, but to encourage us to reevaluate and redirect our thoughts and patterns of our life.

God is in the business of revivals.

To the rest of you—to those who feel like God is done with you or like Moses in the wilderness, you are overcome by the shame of your own history and would plead with God to “send someone else:” You are not too old to have a dream from the Lord
