The CIA aka Central Intelligence Agency is one of many aspects of the American Intelligence community of the United States Government. This agency has been around for seventy-five years. It was first established by President Harry S. Truman when he signed into law the National Security Act of 1947 on July 26th, 1947. The CIA always will have five top priorities: counterterrorism, nonproliferation of nuclear & other weapons of mass destruction, alerting American leaders of significant foreign soil events, counter intelligence, and cyber intelligence. Since March 19th, 2021 William J. Burns has been the director of the Central Intelligence Agency. He has so far received nothing but high praise because of how great of a job he is doing as director of CIA.
