Dave is a well known award-winning Queensland based playwright, he's written two books to date and spends a lot of his time as a youth arts practitioner. We touch on a number of points, the state of Australian theatre and how to classify it, why Dave is a playwright instead of a screenplay writer, and a few other things. In episode 17 I speak to Phoebe Manning. Phoebe is a trained clown performer who currently works with Vulcana Circus as a facilitator predominantly working with children and young people. Phoebe also has a keen interest in working with members of the disabled community. We speak about the education sector and why Phoebe "ran away with the circus" we also touch on what performing arts means to her. Welcome to the podcasts' sweet 16th. This episode I dive into the world of screen acting with Simone Buchanan. We touch on what being a child actor was like and how it has now changed, I ask whether acting ever became less than a passion and more of a job as well as nepotism in the acting world. Despite the unlucky connotations, episode 13 was a pleasure of an interview. In this interview, I speak with Liam Fitz-Gibbon, a technical coordinator and audio technician. It was amazing to sit down and speak to someone from the backstage world as well as someone who knows a lot more about music than I and was willing to teach me. We discuss Liams favourite kind of job, what annoys techies, what setting up for a music gig is like and at the end we do a quickfire question roundabout music jargon. The answers to which actually helped me with some podcast related items. With episode 12 we are officially halfway through the episodes for the year. This episode is very regional arts-themed which I found so enlightening. My guest is Benjamin Tupas, a multimedia artist and artistic director, as well as being a primary school teacher. I met Ben through volunteering for the Toowoomba Lit Festival, which Ben is the artistic director of. We spend a lot of time speaking about Ben's feelings towards both regional and metro artists. Ben also brings up what he refers to as his conflicts. These are decisions and feelings he has that leave him torn and it's quite an interesting idea. Episode 11 is a bit of a special one as I did a lot of research in preparation for this episode and I also had the chance to catch up with my guest from episode 1 Blake Hohenhaus. The episode is broken into two parts.

The first half is Blake and I discuss how the year has gone so far. How our studies have been impacted as well as seeing how Blake is progressing on his full-length play script.

The second half of the episode is an industry discussion where I give statistics about the Australian arts sector. These stats are around the lifestyle and income of Australian artists.
