Synopsis: As Isaiah 53:6 says, all of us have left God's path to follow our own. Jesus came as the Good Shepherd to rescue us from our paths of sin and then lead us in paths of right living. In this message, we consider how our Shepherd leads and how we can be faithful to follow.

Sermon Title: He Leads Me Beside Still Waters (Part 2)

Main Scripture: John 7:37-39 - On the last day, the climax of the festival, Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, “Anyone who is thirsty may come to me! 38 Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’”

Synopsis: One of the primary roles of a shepherd is to lead their sheep to drinkable water, as sheep need a consistent source of clean water in order to survive. This week we look at the last of three primary sources for sheep to experience still waters, and how Jesus ultimately fulfills our need for consistent water.

Sermon Title: To the Men

Main Scripture: Psalm 78:5-6 "He commanded our fathers to teach them to their children, 6 so the next generation might know them—even the children not yet born—and they in turn will teach their own children."

Synopsis: For Father's Day, we are taking a break from our Psalm 23 series to speak a message to the men of Anchor Church. As men, how are we leading, serving, and passing on the faithfulness of God to the next generation? Throughout history, societies, churches, and homes suffer when the men of God become passive. Not so when the men live and lead with godly conviction.

Synopsis: Sheep may be able to survive on occasional nourishment, but they are only healthy when they are able to graze continuously. We too are sheep, designed to slowly and consistently find nourishment in the presence and Word of our Shepherd who has gone before us to prepare all that we need.

Sermon Title: I Shall Not Want (Contentment)

Main Scripture: Psalm 23:1 "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want."

Synopsis: As humans, we have an infinite desire for more. Yet, this Psalm declares "I shall not want." Taken in isolation, this is an impossibility. But in relation to following the Great Shepherd, we can find contentment in where He has us and where He is leading us.
