Sergeant Jill Evans is a small-town cop in Wales with an impressive job record and a less-than-impressive record in her love life. After three engagements, two divorces, and one affair, she’s beginning to worry that love is only true in fairy tales. That is until she meets: Dean. He’s a wealthy beauty entrepreneur with his own range of toiletries.

Girl meets boy. Boy meets girl. They kiss and fall in love. Roll credits. But that would be boring, wouldn’t it? Instead, this is a love story like no other.

It’s all going so well for Jill and Dean, until Halloween night when Dean disappears. And Sgt. Jill is left to pick up the pieces.

From Wondery and Novel, comes a new series, hosted by Kerry Godliman.

"If only they had some sort of GPS monitor on them.” In the case of a person who vanishes without a trace, it’s only natural to wish for some magical tool that could just tell you where they were. As we learn with the case of missing Houston, Texas teenager, Alexander “AJ” Silva, sometimes even that’s not enough.AJ had been arrested in early 2021 and was required to wear an ankle monitor while he awaited trial. It was while he was wearing that device and being monitored by the Harris County court system that he disappeared and met what witnesses say was a horrific fate. How does this happen? How can a county just lose someone when they had the ability to track his exact location? We’ll delve into that and how AJ Silva’s family is fighting for justice.

If you have any information on the disappearance and potential homicide of AJ Silva, please contact the Black and Missing Foundation at 877-972-2634, or visit BAMFI.org

This week we're bringing you an episode from one of our DarkCast Network friends: Hands Off My Podcast. Host Jasmine Castillo covers crimes against underserved communities. This episode tells the story of Colten Pratt, a missing Indigenous man from Winnipeg, Canada. Colten's last confirmed sighting was on November 6, 2015, and his family has been fighting ever since to get his name out there and for people with information to come forward.

DISAPPEARANCE: Police previously said Pratt was last seen leaving the Marlborough Hotel on Smith Street at 9:30 p.m. on Nov. 6. The family says Pratt was in a bar at the Marlborough Hotel in downtown Winnipeg on the night he disappeared and may have gone to another hotel with the woman in the photo. Pratt apparently used his cell phone to send a photo of himself to his mother on the night he disappeared. Family members say that the phone was found downtown. Now the family is trying to identify the woman who also appears in that photo as she may have clues to Pratt’s whereabouts.

“We always have hope that he’s going to walk in the door, but holding that hope is what makes this never go away for us.” - Colten's Mom

For more than three and a half decades, the disappearance of 12-year-old Jonelle Matthews was a mystery – a riddle neither authorities nor her family members could solve. The residents of her cloistered Colorado hometown had scoured every inch of prairie. Jonelle’s face had been on milk cartons nationwide. Even the President of the United States had appealed to the public for help. Still, every lead had fizzled. Every person of interest had turned out to be a dead end.

Then, in 2019, Jonelle’s remains were unearthed near the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. With the discovery came a troubling new question: Had the truth been hiding in plain sight the entire time? Was the man who couldn’t stop obsessing over Jonelle’s disappearance also the person who took her? From Campside Media and Wondery comes season two of SUSPECT. Former CNN reporter Ashley Fantz and executive producers Matthew Shaer and Eric Benson (Suspect, Over My Dead Body) dig into one of the most mind-bending cold cases in modern history, in an attempt to separate fact and fiction, compulsion from guilt, and true-crime fandom from a motive for murder.

Richard Hoagland was a successful family man who lived with his wife and two sons in a suburb outside of Indianapolis, Indiana. On February 10, 1993, he called his wife from work and told her he was sick and heading to the emergency room. He never came home again. For over 23 years, his wife Linda and their two sons wondered about his fate. But in 2016, a bizarre story emerged that proved Richard Hoagland wasn’t who they or anyone else thought he was.

They say hindsight is 20/20. On July 28, 2013, 50-year-old Robert Hoagland, a husband and father of two living in Newtown, Connecticut, had bagels with his son, mowed the lawn, gassed up his wife's car, and disappeared. Friends and family have been dissecting his last moves for years, trying to find clues as to what happened to Robert. Was he a victim of violence? Did he harm himself? Did he simply walk away, leaving his family and all of his possessions behind?

On December 7, 2022, the public finally received some answers when Robert Hoagland was found. Authorities say that he had been living in Rock Hill, New York for the past nine years. In this episode, we discuss what has been revealed about Robert Hoagland's life in the past decade and our theories as to what happened.

This episode will be followed by our original episode on the disappearance of Robert Hoagland which aired in February of 2021.

We’ve all heard of people who have used children as pawns in a divorce. Maybe they’re fighting on visitation or child support payments because they don’t want to give their soon-to-be ex what they want. But in some extreme cases, the animosity and need for control can be destructive. Charles Vosseler needed to be in charge. He needed to decide where his two sons, 3-year-old CJ, and 2-year-old Billy, were at all times. So when it was clear that his marriage to his wife, Ruth, wasn’t working out, Charles hatched a plan.

On October 9, 1986, this plan culminated in him kidnapping his children and keeping them hidden for decades. Over the past 30-plus years, Ruth has never given up on her children. Today, at age 75, she is still out there fighting to keep their names and their faces in the public consciousness, in hopes of finally bringing them home.

There is a $25,000 reward offered to anyone who can provide information leading to the location of Charles Vosseler, CJ, or Billy. If you have any information, please contact your local FBI Field Office, your local American Embassy or Consulate, or the Rochester Police at 603-335-7529.
