The Bears hit the bye week at 3-6 and on a four-game losing streak. It might be time to start thinking about next year, though a fun matchup with Lamar Jackson and the Ravens looms on Sunday. With not much sports news in mind, we take a different route this week, talking with Kelsey's friend Steve Owen. Just like Kelsey, he's a parent of two young ones so we talk about what it's been like parenting during COVID and much more!
The Breeder's Cup has arrived and Brady explains his love-hate relationship with the best weekend on the horse racing calendar. Plus, we discuss more fallout from the Chicago Blackhawks' situation, Henry Ruggs, and more.
The Blackhawks finally have had their chickens come to roost in their sexual assault allegations from the 2010 Stanley Cup season, and GM Stan Bowman is out of a job. There's more to come in this case, but we discuss our initial reactions. The Bears get humiliated in Tampa Bay, and we talk about that and everything Bears with Bill Zimmerman of Windy City Gridiron.
Another Packers Week, another L for the beloved Chicago Bears. Kelsey and Brady talk about the Green Bay game and look ahead to the GOAT...Bears and Buccaneers this coming Sunday. Also, axe throwing shenanigans and an impending beer tasting that might put Kelsey under the table.
Almost as quickly as it began, the White Sox postseason was ended by the Houston Astros, who won the series three games to one. Brady and Kelsey discuss the series and how the White Sox might rebound for the 2022 season. Also the Bears got a good win over the Raiders on Sunday, though that's not the biggest news out of Raiders camp this week as Jon Gruden resigned as head coach after some past email transgressions came to light.
It's Packers Week! Can the Bears get it done, or will Aaron Rodgers do what he's done for most of his career against the Beloved?
The calendar finally flipped to October and it's time for playoff baseball on the Southside! Justin Weiner, broadcasting teacher at Glenbrook North HS and an old radio buddy of Brady's joins the show to talk about his impressions on the impending date with the Astros.
We also discuss the Bears' win over Detroit, and somehow make our way from vaccine mandates to the Breeders Cup.
The final Closing Day for Arlington Park has come and gone, and since then we've learned that the Chicago Bears were selected by Churchill Downs as the winning bid for the Arlington Park property. Brady and Kelsey reminisce about their Arlington experience and what the future might hold.
Luis Medina of Bleacher Nation joins the show to talk about the prospect of the Bears moving to the burbs, as well as the beginning of the Justin Fields era. Can the offense rebound on Sunday at home against the Lions?
The Bears dropped the season opening game against the Rams, 34-14. Brady and Kelsey talk about their impressions of Week 1, and we look ahead to Week 2 against the Bengals. Frank LaPlaca, host of The Unofficial Bengals Podcast joins us to talk about their opener against the Vikings, as well as how he would gameplan if he were Matt Nagy.
It's finally time to turn the lights on as the NFL Regular Season gets underway this week! The Bears are in Los Angeles to take on the Rams and much (probably too much) will be made of what happens on Sunday night. Shaun Davis of ESPN Chicago and Sports Illustrated joins us to preview both Sunday's game and the whole season, as well as a little on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish after their overtime thriller in Tallahassee.
Kelsey is thoroughly impressed with Brady's random history knowledge (or at least being in the ballpark), and Brady has a confession.
We finally got to see the Chicago Bears' shiny new toy in action! Justin Fields played about half the game on Saturday. We talk with Dave Ross of Stadium about that Preseason opener, and why Bears fans should pump the brakes a bit on Justin Fields. We also touch on the defensive side of the ball, and what Mitchell Trubisky should expect in his return to Chicago.
Also in the news this week is the US' withdrawal from Afghanistan. Dave served in the Marines during Desert Storm, and has a unique perspective of what it's like for soldiers coming home from war. Can't-miss-stuff.
Finally, we say goodbye to Owen, hello to Kelsey's new job, and talk about Arlington Park's final Million Day.
