The Summer Olympics are underway and very early on we get one of the sports stories of the year! Simone Biles pulled herself out of competition to focus on her mental health. We talk about the early repercussions and try to imagine what that sort of pressure is like. Also, baseball's trading deadline is this week...what will the Cubs and White Sox do? NFL Camps are opening...drama avoided in Green Bay and is Matt Nagy now considering starting Justin Fields in Week 1? Finally, two blue chip College Football programs are looking for a change.

We've hit the unofficial midway point of the 2021 baseball season! The Cubs and White Sox are in very different places, with the Cubs recent 11-game losing streak effectively knocking them out of the race in the NL Central. The White Sox, on the other hand, have a comfortable lead in the AL Central and will look to add ahead of the July 31st trade deadline. Shane Riordan of 670 The Score joins us to talk about what's gone wrong for the Cubs and where they go from here, as well as what to expect out of the White Sox for the second half and beyond.

Owen is 30! We spent a good amount of time getting to know Owen a little bit better and hearing about his career as an Athletic Trainer. What's the worst injury he's ever seen?

Also it was nice to see and hear from Blackhawks Captain Jonathan Toews, and the Cubs make history in the wrong way.

Our guest this week is Ryan Elatkin. Softball teammate to Brady and Owen, former bar security guard to a lot of other people. We hear some crazy stories, how he picked out who would cause trouble, and how he earned his nickname: Cheetah.

It feels like we hadn't recorded a show in a month! We certainly enjoyed being back together after missing last week with conflicting schedules. 

Long episode alert! Brady recently got a jury summons for the first time in a long time, so we talk about our experiences with Jury Duty, including Owen's impactful time being a juror on a murder trial.

Medina Spirit finished 3rd in the Preakness Stakes, meaning there won't be a Triple Crown in horse racing for 2021. Kelsey, Brady, and Owen discuss whether that might actually be a good thing for the sport this year. 

Our guest this week is Joe Brand, a reporter for WGN Radio in Chicago and the voice of the Kane County Cougars. Joe talks about the end of the Blackhawks season, and summarizes the first month and a half of the baseball season for both sides of town. We also talk about his experience as the play by play announcer for Minor League Baseball's Kane County Cougars, just in time for their season opening series against the Chicago Dogs!

Medina Spirit is...for now...the winner of the Kentucky Derby. Will that change after a post-race positive drug test? Only time will tell. Also, in honor of Mother's Day, Brady and Owen's mom Karen joins the show to talk about raising two boys in a sports-crazed household and give Kelsey some advice on raising her two boys.

The Chicago Bears and their fans were in need of some excitement...a reason to care. They certainly got it last Thursday night when Ryan Pace traded up to 11 from 20 and selected Ohio State QB Justin Fields. We react to that pick and when we think he'll take over under center.

It was a gorgeous Saturday in Louisville as the Kentucky Derby returned to it's rightful place in the sports calendar. Medina Spirit took the field wire-to-wire to become the latest horse immortalized in Churchill Downs history. Will he complete the Triple Crown? Only time will tell.

Spring might be the best time on the sports calendar. The NCAA Tournament, the Masters, baseball's Opening Day, the NFL Draft and the Kentucky Derby all within a month and a half or so. What will the Bears do at pick #20 on Thursday night? Will they trade out of that spot? Draft a QB? Who knows...we'll talk about that next week.
