Aniki

The manga revolution may be in for a revolution as the Aniki brothers climb a deadly gauntlet with the adaptation of the Korean manwa Tower of God.

The manga revolution may be in for a revolution as the Aniki brothers climb a deadly gauntlet with the adaptation of the Korean manwa Tower of God. Originally published on Webtoons, Tower of God is a rarity in that it is an anime based on non-Japanese published source material. Following the Twenty-Fifth Baam, or Yoru, the show follows his journey through the eponymous tower to reunite with his friend Rachel. Said to grant any wish to those that reach its top, the tower poses a mighty and deadly gauntlet for each of its floors. While a shounen at heart, this is a unique spin on the genre with amazing animation and fantastic music. Also featuring: mahjong rants and some other manga reviews.

Who said CG anime was terrible? Well, we did, but Houseki no Kuni is a strong case that CG can be used to build a compelling and engaging show.

Who said CG anime was terrible? Well, we did, but Houseki no Kuni is a strong case that CG can be used to build a compelling and engaging show. In a world where minerals are human-like, Phos and other gem-people must protect the remainder of their kind of the relentless assault of the mooninites. A unique show that strips characters of their sex, passes Lovecraftian horror off as bright fantasy, and makes us rethink our position on using computer graphics for anime production. Also featuring: Happiness, Tomochan is a Girl, Tonikaku Cawaii, and So I’m a Spider, So What?

The Aniki brothers go head to head with Hi Score Girl, the show that asks "Can being a Street Fighter arcade rat get you a high school love triangle?"

The Aniki brothers go head to head with Hi Score Girl, the show that asks “Can being a Street Fighter arcade rat get you a high school love triangle?” The short answer is yes, at least for our boy Haruo. An avid early-90’s king of his video-game domain, his reign is threatened by the school princess Ono. Growing from rivalry to love, their relationship is built on the solid foundation of joysticks, coins, and the joy of defeating all opponents. However, when a new player, Hidaka, arrives to the game of love, who will become champion of Haruo’s heart? One of the best romance shows we’ve watched in a long time, this is a must watch. Also featuring: Tsukuyomi and Pop Team Epic.

Determined to bet their own destruction, the brothers take a chance on the gambling anime that is a mashup of Poker Stars, Bollywood and Jojo: Kakegurui.

Determined to bet their own destruction, the brothers take a chance on the gambling anime that is a mashup of Poker Stars, Bollywood and Jojo: Kakegurui. Set in a high-school where your success and even life are tied to your gambling skills, the seemingly mild-mannered transfer student Yumeko Jabami upturns the social order with her insatiable desire for the ultimate gamble. While absolutely bananas, this show offers interesting games, crazy drama, and something of a mashup of Bollywood and Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure. Also featuring: How Clumsy Are You Miss-Ueno, Houseki no Kuni, Toilet-Bound Hanako-san, and Katanagatari.
