Anime Against the World episodes
- Made in Abyss - Is this show just a little bit BBQ sauce? This show was a weird one... you know that weird feeling you get when you eat BBQ sauce? If you know, you know. This fantasy show takes a close look at child labour laws and exploits them to the fullest. While venturing down a giant hole, Sam and Will find themselves discussing a show that conveniently knows a thing or two about that. If you want to hear us ramble on for a couple of hours about the first three episodes of this weird chibbified freakfest, then make sure to tell a friend and spread the word.

1 hr 9 min - Star Wars Visions - Is there anything better than a LIGHTSABER UMBRELLA?FINALLY, Will can get on board some Main Stream content - even if it is still anime! This week we look at the topical Star Wars Visions, the short anthology series that gives our boys plenty to talk about! We discuss the big issues, like why the final movie deserves to be burnt to the ground and why Star Wars might just be a little bit murdery. You know the drill guys - tell a friend about the podcast! Or in true Star Wars fashion, do the exact same thing but do it a million times...

Fine, we will! This week our boys explore everything from star wars name sakes to who wins a fight between Shazam and All Might? 1 hr 9 min - Vampire Hunter D (1985) - DRACULA has been CANCELLED!This week the boys look at their oldest ever anime production in Vampire hunter D (1985). There isn't much left on the table in this episode, as our hosts pull this show limb from limb. From sketchy etchy shower scenes to laughable animation, it may be a painful listen if this film has a special place in your heart, but take solace in the fact that there is always a D for every V in this world...

1 hr 24 min - The God of High School - the BEST fight scenes in ANIME?After listening to Will's issues with the standard of anime to date, Sam comes fully loaded with this banger of a show! With some incredible fight scenes, some impressive animation and some hilarious stand out moments, this show has a great shot at getting into the Aniverse. This week the boys manage to slam Record of Ragnarok yet again, somehow tangent onto Power Rangers, yet again, and Will can't remember the name of a show he's been watching, YET AGAIN!

1 hr 20 min - BEASTARS: Re-visited! - LEGOSHI is an EGOMANIAC! (Spoilers S1)This week the boys go back over Season 1 of Beastars to see if it lives up to their stellar review way back in episode 9. Of course, that was just based on 3 episodes. Now the boys have love triangles, love hotels and love fuelled shonen battles to add into the equation! They discuss everything from the politics of the war on drugs to the purpose of anime, and all the while they try to figure out what the hell happened to Tem!?

1 hr 8 min - Clockwork Planet: Our BIGGEST rant ever?!This episode, our boys discuss the absurdities present in this week's anime: Clockwork Planet. From poor character development to inexplainable plots, Sam and Will pull this show apart like disassembling a clock - which isn't necessarily important in a world made of clocks apparently so they should be fine! Despite some pretty damning plot holes, can Will and Sam find enough metal in the madness to give this post apocalyptic, sci-fi anime a shot at getting into the aniverse?

1 hr 14 min - Tokyo Ghoul: is Hide the best ever 'best friend'?This week the boys look at a Japan infested with people eating monsters that need to devour humans to survive. No, it's nothing like zombies... or vampires... These are Ghouls! - They have tentacles so they're completely different. Honest! The lads discuss the ins and outs of Tokyo Ghoul this week, from the amazing animation to the phenomenal directing and as always, include plenty of criticisms along the way! Does it have what it takes to get into the Aniverse?

About Anime Against the World
From the publisher's feed
Know anything about anime? Because Will certainly didn't, until his anime-loving, best bud moved his butt all the way from the UK to Japan! As a way to keep in touch, our hosts decided to set up a…
podcast! What's the theme you ask? Well, originally it was all about teaching the novice Will all about anime, and there is a substantial back log of episodes focussed on just this for you to enjoy! This was also under the name Gateway to the Aniverse, so you may come across that title from time to time... Nowadays however, the boys have diversified somewhat, since obviously Will has been promoted to Hobby Weeb, and everyone is welcome! Anime, of course, is still a core part of the show, but it is now much more open ended and honestly, who knows what they will talk about week to week. Hopefully it's entertaining if nothing else, and we hope you can get on board with this weird pen pal podcast and join the Anime community in their battle Against the World!
