This week the class returns to visit our favorite pretend family! In this episode, we cover chapters 38-75 that have been published in the Spy x Family manga. We cover the next few arcs that will potentially make up season 2, receive more backstory on our favorite pretend couple, and watch as friendships begin to blossom among classmates. Tune in as we discuss our favorite moments of the next few arcs, who/what we would like to see happen, and what questions/thoughts we have about the story at this point. 

This week the class went to the movies, and ended up on the battleground known as "love". After an amazing season 3, Kaguya-Sama, "The First Kiss that Never Ends," picks right up where we left off. Kaguya and Shirogane continue their lover's quarrel while they finally begin to not only accept each other but, most importantly, accept themselves. Tune in as we discuss some of our favorite moments of this Christmas arc, what characters shined the most, and what our predictions are for an eventual season 4!

This week the class is reviewing Satoshi Kon's classic, Perfect Blue. This Japanese-animated psychological horror really takes us for a spin and direction that not even we could predict. Tune in as we discuss some of our favorite moments, the various themes and styles of this animated thriller, and the impact of mental illness and how it can take a toll on a "normal" human being. This week the class is visiting the ice age and trying to figure out how to survive in this frozen and barren wasteland that we once called earth. Fire Punch is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Tatsuki Fujimoto. It was serialized through Shueisha's Shōnen Jump+ website from April 2016 to January 2018. Our story follows Agni, who is a boy who has the blessing of regeneration. After his village succumbs to inextinguishable flames, he is left constantly on fire, leaving him in anguish and vowing to get revenge. Tune in as we discuss Fujimoto's work before chainsaw man, and hear what some of our favorite moments were throughout the series. 

The club tackles the number one rated anime of the fall season, Bleach Thousand Year Blood War! With amazing fights, wonderful story elements and god-tier voice acting, there is really only one question on all of their minds. WHY DID PIERROT HAVE TO POP OFF LIKE THAT?? Grab your Zanpakuto, and your tissues cause THIS is peak Bleach, and baby, it'll make you feel like number one!

Time Travel and various world lines seem to be a common theme on this podcast. This week, we're reviewing a show that was a pretty big hit last year in 2022 due to its level of violence and craziness that surrounded this one lonely little island. Summer Time Rendering is a story about Shinpei Ajiro, a high schooler who visits his hometown, Awajishima island, for the first time in two years following the death of his childhood crush, Ushio Kofune, who drowned by the beach after saving a little girl from getting swept by a violent wave. Did we find this story to be scary? Who were our favorites amongst the cast, and what moment shocked us the most? Tune in and hear our thoughts on Summertime Rendering. 

This week the class dives into one of the dark horses of the Fall 2022 anime season. We follow Bocchi, a girl who is a shy, awkward, and lonely high school student who dreams of being in a band despite her doubts and worries, but when she is recruited to be the guitarist of a group looking to make it big, she realizes her dream may be able to be fulfilled and come true. This week we dive back into Spy x Family! This season we get a dog and meet some new lovable, and interesting faces as the Forgers continue to navigate life while keeping their true identities secret. Loid can play tennis? Becky learns to be "down to earth", Yor continues to struggle with cooking, and Anya continues to live her life in new and interesting ways for a child.
