Anime Pulse

Imagine it’s the year two thousand. The President rules America as he travels Europe. After twenty plus years, he’s still vital and oversees our national pastime, Death Race 2000(1975). Fan favorite racer , Frankenstein returns to compete once more along with a few newcomers. Who will collect the most points and kill as they race from New York to L.A.? Those of us in the future know the answer but we’d like you to try this with fresh eyes. Yes, we did the Roger Corman classic Death Race to honor his passing. We figured what better way to pay homage to the man who is responsible for more people being …

Price check on manga. I need a price check on manga. Yes, I am aware this is a supermarket price check gag and that it was old even back in the eighties. Which means it’s beyond not relevant to make one now. Maybe we could do a random department page over the intercom. Grocery stores still do that. They also do those funny announcements about security like that deters shoplifters. Tim has Blade of Retribution. It’s about a Korea, Shiho, who’s a Kendo master. His sister heads off to college in Seoul. Then she dies and he decides to investigate because she wrote the infinity symbol in her journal. This …

It’s Monday, folks. At least when we’re recording. It also is often when we post because that’s our schedule. But even if it’s one of the other six days of the week, treat it like it’s Monday. By that we mean groan, clock in not more than a second before you’re obligated, and glare at the first people you interact with. Then brace yourself for discussion of movies. We start us off with Hudson Hawk(1991). Depending on how long you’ve been familiar with the man, you might better recognize him as Mister Action star with the patented glower of someone who has less than a minute to get to the …

This week on Anime Pulse we got even more previews, shaved heads, and community thoughts on the season thus far. Up first Joseph takes the plunge into doing something he has put off for years, and Andrew is relieved that the Anime Pulse website has returned to regular operations. Then in the industry news a new policy for charging foreigners more is debated, Crunchyroll is still the worst, and expressions that hurt others are going away? And lastly in the previews Joseph ends up cringing at a watery goddess after defeating the final boss with an amazing rack on her, and Andrew tries to golf par 8 with kaiju jellyfish at night.

This week on VGP, we’re back! Kind of! We start off with side notes of why all the shows have been on hiatus for the last month, before diving into the regular news where we discuss Microsoft entering into it’s villain arc, Sony’s questionable move of making its steam games need to be linked to a PSN account, Poppy Playtime getting a movie adaptation, and Starfield continuing to disappoint! After the news we go over the Discord Discussions, and finish off with talk of anime! All this and more up next on VGP 404!! Oh my goodness, things are moving along again. That means a post is due. Have we done something about leaves being raked? Does that work for anything? No? Crap. We’ll cut right to the brass tacks then. This is a manga show and we’ve managed to read and produce a review for two. We hope you’ll listen, like, subscribe, and send two box tops plus proof of purchase along with a check for shipping to claim your prize. Tim has Hatarakanai Futari. It’s about a pair of siblings who are shut ins that do fuck all. Focused mostly on the sister, Haruko. The parents are alive and working to get …

Two households, both alike in dignity. In fat America, where we lay our scene. And that’s about all we can figure to work in a Shakespeare reference in the few minutes we knock these out. Besides we wanted to get a little classy before we tackle an A24 movie. Yup, we watched Civil War[2024]. If you’ve seen the trailers, then you’ve got some expectations as to what we’re in for. War scenes, bad things happening, and lots of explosions. Instead, you’re treated to a civil war in the US happening because reasons. And we follow ‘journalists’ as they try and get to the White House to get an interview with …

This week on Anime Pulse we got more previews, attacking someone over spoilers, and 100 year anniversaries. Up first Joseph quickly mentions his attendance at the 100 year anniversary for is other job, before Andrew goes into community with a question about anime eyes. Then in the industry news Andrew takes it away with a stinky Yu-Gi-Oh event, and a man who got a little too heated after Oshi no Ko was spoiled for him. And finally in the second round of previews Joseph finds himself isekai'd to another world where he becomes young again and begins attending a magical high school, but Andrew on the other hand breaks wind as his family mission has him become a fable.

If you’re reading this then you’re probably hearing about all the issues on website posts. Which is ironic because the only way this shows up is that the issues are resolved. One of those kind of funny paradoxes where you get to hear about it for the next couple of episodes now that it’s all done. It’s kind of like getting the results back from a cancer screening after you’ve already had surgery to remove a growth. If it helps, we’ve been keeping up with the recordings at least so we have manga. Tim has Since the Red Moon Appeared. The title is a bit explanatory. Some red moon events …
