  • EP 46: Poly-Oly-Oly With DeAndre

Did you miss us? Welp, here we are back with another episode. DeAndre aka Mr. Everlasting, co-host of Tha Souf Got Sumthin 2 Say and The Safe Word joins Syd for a discussion on polyamory. Inspired by the book, The Ethical Slut, she and her guest explore the dynamic of non-monogamous relationships. Touching on myths regarding polyamorous lifestyles both agree that non traditional relationships require more communication, honesty and trust. If your entire reason for becoming poly is to acquire as many sexual encounters as possible, we’d advise you to seek otherwise. Also, it seems as though Only Fans made headlines about it’s recent backtrack on banning sexually explicit content. Guess what that means?

Go ahead and support this week’s guest by checking out both of his podcasts,The Safe Word w/ Mystique and Mr.Everlasting or Tha Souf Got Sumthin 2 Say, along with a follow for DeAndre at @officialeterniti

  • EP 45: Hot Girls Set Standards

Hey friends and friends of friends! We’re back with a solo situation for this week’s episode. Syd dives into the notion of not selling yourself short and setting standards in your life. Ironically, our society often tells us to set standards but not to make them too high. Throughout the episode Syd shares about finding balance in setting standards and helping yourself align with what you want to excel at. If they're too low, you risk people walking over you and being directionless but if they're too high, you may feel like you're always falling short of who you want to be.

  • EP 44: Weddings, Neckbones and 1-Year Anniversaries with Ash Lemonade

Hey Friendz! Seems as though we managed to whip up an episode for this week despite how chaotic life has gotten. Joined by podcast host of Sweetened with Ash Lemonade and might I say longtime guest of the podcast, Ashley shows up and out as she always does. Both Ashley and Syd had the pleasure of celebrating the 1-Year Anniversary of their podcasts. While the endeavour has allowed both women to tap into another side of their creativity, everything comes with challenges. Yet despite them, both women are still triumphing through and assessing the best way to reach their goals. Also, LMAO at the pause break while Ashley checked on her neckbones. We love duality.

If you want more of this wholesome content, check out Syd and Ash’s previous episode WDN or tune in for more of Ash’s culturally curated content at Sweetened Podcast with Ash Lemonade. Make sure to follow Ash and the podcast on Instagram @sweetendedpodcast @iamashlemonade

  • EP 43: Gripaz Girl Code with Selah and Kendall

Hey Friendzzz! We’re back with an episode this week, which I’m sure is our funniest episode yet. Yes, Syd has once again forced her friends to join her for an episode, including this week’s guests Selah and Kendall. Lol so they actually weren’t forced and enjoyed being part of this week’s conversation as we discussed Girl Code. Known as the unwritten ethics and rules women tend to abide by in the name of friendship, we discuss it all! Between sex, dating, being a good wingwoman and sometimes hoping in the back of unidentifiable SUV trucks nothing is off limits. Also, while we do claim these as what can make or break a friendship, it seems as though most of it is just common sense. Lastly, all of the ladies agree that they are tired of seeing baby shower announcements for Nick Cannon. It’s disgusting.

If you love my guests as much as I do please follow them online at @selah.v and @kendallaherbert. I’m sure you were already curious to see who they were, so hit that follow button.

  • EP 41: Trying to Control Who? With Reece L.

Back to business and churning out another episode! Syd is joined by a guest whose show she also had the pleasure of appearing on, Reece L. co-host of Carbon Ops Rawcast. Discussing a more serious, yet untouched topic the pair get real about controlling partners in intimate relationships. A partner who’s controlling or overly dominant can be detrimental to a relationship even if the control tactics are subtle and passive. We both agree that control is often about a level of respect one partner refuses to give the other due to their own insecurities. If you even find yourself being controlling, take a step back and look at why you feel everything must go your way.

  • EP 40: Don't Annoy Me With Your Zengery with Nia

Back after a quick a break! We're happy to be back and brining a new guest. Syd is joined this week by the ZenMami herself, Nia Hendrix host of the podcasts, Keep that Same Zenegery and The Goods. Focused on trying to stay zen during all the commotion and agitation of everyday life we discuss the annoyances of being someone that's laid back trying to keep the peace. Often we're so busy trying to keep up with the hustle and bustle of life, we take the time for ourselves to release those small stressors. At the end of the day, it's always worth it to check out from your surroundings and check in with yourself.

  • EP 39: Almost All There

Late but better late than never! Going into this week with a solo situation, Syd is up discussing how the people who want to be most helpful usually are the least. We've all come across Negative Ninnies who can offer criticism without offering a solution. She also goes more into the notion of thinking you should have it all together before you can actually prosper in life. We’re all guilty of thinking well “Once I get this accomplished, I’m set and I’ll be happy….but until then…” Yet in reality, we're missing out on how perfect the present is and the fact that literally no one has it 100% figured out.

  • EP 38: The Other B Word with Kam

New week, new content! Syd is joined this week by long-time friend Kameron to chat about what some people will never understand about being biracial. This topic comes at a time when race relations in America are very much at peak chaoticness. We dive into what it's like being biracial in a country that is as segregated as it is diverse. Considering most of the population is still confused by the difference in ethnicity, race and nationality, why is there always the expectation to only identify with one side of your background? While there may be some complexities compared to being a single-raced person, we both agree that identity is generally shaped by the culture you feel most comfortable and should not be forced upon anyone.

If you enjoyed this conversation then follow Kameron on Instagram at @kammycarlonne and as he said before if you know any youth in need contact the street outreach program for his org, Youth in Need at (314) 280-0941.

  • EP 37: Give These Artists Their Things with Lex

After a short two week, we’re happy to be back with a new episode! Syd is joined by music aficionado, Lex of The Lex Mix, a weekly music playlist curated according to the latest and greatest of all genres. Inspired by the most recent documentary ‘Tina’ focused on the legendary and iconic, Tina Turner, we chat about her story. Like many musicians today she faced hardship and strife but used her undying passion for music to propel herself into stardom. Like can you imagine the annoyance of creating a lane unlike anyone before you yet only receiving your credit much later on? Surprisingly this isn’t uncommon in terms of Black musicians.

  • EP 36: Back & Burned Out

New week, new episode! We’re back but not sure if we’re exactly better. Syd shares how she's pretty much at wits end with being completely depleted and exhausted. As she looked further into it she’s realized she’s sorta nearing a burnout. Quite common considering our society’s culture of working and giving our all until we have nothing left, burnout occurs when you feel overwhelmed, emotionally drained, and unable to meet constant demands. If being burned out is more than annoying since the longer you ignore it the worse it gets. For all those like Syd, overworked and mentally exhausted try to schedule some sort of rest.
