Everyone has their own opinions based on past dating history and the genuine feeling of keeping things to ourselves. Especially in the realm of social media where research proves that the implications of social media can change our disclosure of relationships online. However, we can all agree that displaying your partner on social media should be consistent with your posting habits prior to the relationship.

Hey Friendzzz! We’re back with an episode this week to discuss this same debate we see circulate on social media time and time again, regarding who offers more to students historically Black universities or predominately white institutions? I’m joined by HBCU alumnus Candi K, Lynn host of the Pull Up podcast and Victor of the Liquor Talks podcast to provide insight based on their own experiences. We discuss if the negative connotations associated with each institution are based solely on stereotypes, lack of general perspective or truly a conversation about Blackness. Hello again, friends! Syd is back to the mic with a solo episode this week, detailing her views on The United States vs Billie Holiday and Judas and The Black Messiah. While the past few weeks’ have been fairly pleasant, there is also something useful to complain about. Mainly how infiltrating it is to deal with unreliable people. We all understand that things happen but it’s borderline unrealistic that it’s always something hindering you from sticking to what you’ve committed to. If anything, reliability is the connection between the life you led and the life you actually want, as Syd details not only dealing with unreliable people but being unreliable about your own goals.

What’s up, y’all? Syd is joined by Big Dez of the Dis Ain’t Dat Podcast, for a discussion on children but a specific brand of child. Yes, we’re discussing spoiled brats or more importantly spoiling kids. Quiet as kept, everyone dislikes the so-called overindulged", "grandiose", "narcissistic" or "egocentric-regressed" children, yet continues to indulge them. Syd and Dez are both only children, who can relate to being teased for being “spoiled rotten” throughout our childhood. However, they agree that while they did receive plenty of gifts, the spoiling often was in the form of receiving more than enough warmth and affection. Maybe spoiling children has more positives than negatives.

Whether you’ve been friend-zoned or had to friend zone someone, it was clearly established that while one person wanted to enter a more serious romantic relationship the other did not. But is it always necessarily a bad thing? We all put it out on the table as we discuss why someone is qualified for the friend zone, giving them a more serious role in your life after a period of time and even being honest with your expectations of a friend, who may or may not be attracted to you. Aside from the fresh start, Syd spills her guts on a recent venture that wasn’t so successful. While it wasn’t quite derailing or upsetting it led to a deeper dive into coping with losses and mechanisms. Coping with everyday life doesn’t have to be difficult but sometimes more skills are needed than binge-watching 7 seasons of a show on Netflix.

While this is a common worry, in the creative industry you can’t take anything personally! We agree it’s a journey and it all goes back to promoting whatever drives you.
