The TeamClearCoat Book Club Announcement

We're happy to announce the launch of the TeamClearCoat book club!

On the 3rd Wednesday of every month, we'll release an episode featuring an author of an automotive-related book. These episodes will be in addition to our regular weekly ones. So let's all read some more books!

Episode 36-You have what in your glass?

It's all a little bit too much this time, but in the best possible way.

Ike from Untitled Car Show joins us for a discussion that goes too far in pretty much every direction. There's a little too much talk about Mitsubishi, one too many mentions of when you need to apply Vaseline inside a Ford Fiesta, and definitely too many varieties of liquor in Ike's glass.

None of that compares to how too-much we go over on time, though. Whoops. But hang in there - it's worth listening to all of, in all of it's too-much glory.

Episode 35-How do you rate things?

We talk this time about rating your ride-share driver, how Ian would rate new drivers, and how low Dave would rate LCD Soundsystem. But that too-low rating is nothing compared to how too-low Dave's V-Neck was on his shirt.

In that spirit, here are some other ratings from this episode. GTV prices: 1/5 stars. Ian's rental car process: 4/5 stars (until he hits something due to not being able to use his mirrors). Episode 34-See, there's the "okay".

Yeah, this is a weird one. Let's just get that out of the way right now. Dave full on rages against the Segway machine, Ian contemplates life as a freegan, and yeah...other stuff is discussed.

Once again we have thoughts on a carmaker's proposed then rescinded flagship sedan, then end up discussing Lincoln, because that's just what we do.

We also turn our attention to the Tesla Model 3, Ian's father and new listeners, and Dave learns that he is once again out of the loop on car news, even though HE HAS AN AUTOMOTIVE PODCAST. All that plus yelling and laughter await those brave enough to make it through the awkward discussion of the application of oils during this episode. Thank you, sorry.

Episode 33-Really, nothing went wrong!

Episode 31-Or maybe just be ready with the pocket taffy.

We went to the 2016 Denver Auto Show with the intention of acting like adults and giving you, dear listener, some actual information. But if we're honest, we didn't make it too long before we started goofing off.

We did, however, end up interviewing show runner Tim Jackson and getting some insight on what it's like putting together a regional car show, sitting in a lot of new cars, and giving Dave the F1 update he didn't ask for.

Episode 30-It's almost probably going to be okay.

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times to be a pair of hapless automotive podcasters.

The good news is that we had a great conversation with Mr. Regular from Regular Car Reviews via Skype! The bad news is that we had a technical mishap and lost a good size chunk of the interview. I'm not sure we can get MORE TeamClearCoat than landing an important interview and then finding a way to screw it up completely.
