Apocalypse in Review episodes

  • Pacific Rim feat. [Lindsay of Ye Olde Crime]

We had Lindsay from the Ye Old Crime podcast back on our show so we could talk about Pacific Rim. Released in 2013, it's part Godzilla, part Transformers, with a tiny bit of Independence Day all rolled into one.
We ran through the trivia, Michelle bashed the movie, we played "But Why?!", and a game Tom made up called "Fishing Story" then ended with our rating and reviewing of the movie.

  • The Postman feat. [Rivers Langley]

Who else is excited that we have Rivers Langley on our show again? We watched the never-ending The Postman featuring Kevin Costner. Also known as "Dirt World" it is a doozy. We do a half-assed synopsis (because a real synopsis would take us at least 2 hours), we play "But Why?!" and end with a rating and reviewing of the movie. We hope you enjoy this episode. We had a lot of fun creating it.

  • Dr. Strangelove feat. [Nick Thomas]

Check out this fun episode with comedian, Nick Thomas, as we discuss and rate Dr. Strangelove. Nick came back onto our show because we had such a great time with the movie, They Live. We do our usual synopsis, a butt load of fun trivia, Tom's new game "Stranger Danger" and the rating/review of the movie.

  • Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind feat. [Mike Engle]

Hey folx! We are back with a super fun episode featuring comedian and musician, Mike Engle. Mike is a comedian that is also a part of an amazing band called Alex Jonestown Massacre. We were introduced to Mike through Rivers Langley, and we were so excited when Mike wanted to come on our show!
Mike recommended the 1984 anime movie, Nausicaä of the Valley of the World, as this week's movie. We did our usual synopsis (albeit very half-arsed by a tired Michelle), trivia, Tom's new game "Pin the Tale on the Folk", and our rating/reviews.

  • Us [feat. Brian Brown]

Guess what's better than watching Us and have our bestie Brian Brown come on our show? NOTHING, that's what. The movie was a refreshing change to the ones we've been previously reviewing.
This week, we did our usual intro/synopsis, then trivia, a game called "My Own Worst Enemy" courtesy of Tom (as always), and ended with our rating and reviewing. This episode is a long one because when you get Michelle (me) and Brian together, we can't shut up.
We hope you enjoy this episode as much as we had making it!

  • Hell Comes to Frogtown [feat. Tommy Walter]

We were super excited about having our fellow Slash n Cast Network podcaster Tommy Walter on this week! Tommy is a part of the Heels and Quads Wrestling Podcast, and what better movie to come on our show with other than another Roddy Piper movie, Hell Comes to Frogtown.

Fair warning: we had a whole lot of trouble recording this episode ("technical difficulties" is an understatement) and there is an echo in this episode. Tom tried his best so it is what it is.

  • The Purge [feat. Caitlin Cutt]

We've been wondering when someone would want to watch this movie with us. Michelle hasn't been looking forward to it, but it is what it is.
We had Caitlin Cutt from the Pretty Scary Podcast on our show this week. We started off with trivia. ended up on a lot of tangents and rabbit holes, Tom made up a game called "Old Founding Fathers" then ended with our rating and reviewing.

  • Akira [feat. Blake Griffin]

We're so excited to have our friend and portrait photographer, Blake Griffin, back on our show! We watched Akira, the anime movie of all time.
We discussed some trivia and Blake through out some cool facts about how Akira created a shift in action movies and became the movie that brought anime into Western culture. Our usual games and antics with our rating/reviewing to end the show. We hope you enjoy this episode as much as we did!

  • Waterworld [feat. Peter Davenport]

This week on Apocalypse in Review, we cover Waterworld with our friend and comedian, Peter Davenport. Peter is hilarious and you can follow him on Twitter @CasualThursday
We went through some insane trivia, played an oldie-but-goodie "But Why?" and played a game Tom calls, "Forget it, kid, it's Waterworld". We finished off with our usual reviewing and rating of the movie.

  • Oops! All Crunchberries! [feat. Pat Houston]

Happy Thanksgiving weekend, everyone! We hope you're relaxing and getting to eat all the good food. Thanksgiving this year is much different than any we've had, so we thought we'd celebrate (or mourn depending on your mindset) by doing a special episode we are naming "Oops! All Crunchberries!". This means we did a whole episode with only the fun bits from our usual episodes. We had our bestie Pat Houston on to help us out, and we discussed some hilarious news of the week, played some games, and answered some Twitter questions. We hope you like this episode and will check in with our usual segment next week!
