Apologetics Live episode 124

Elizabeth Prata joins Andrew and Anthony to talk about women's ministry and women discussing theology. A wide range of topics was discussed about women's ministry. Women's Bible studies in churches are the source of many problems in churches. They name some names of women in ministry to be avoided and below is a list of solid women that do theology/discernment. A name that came up often is Beth Moore. Elizabeth Prata explains why Beth Moore is so dangerous to the church and why it is so hard for many women to accept the idea that she could be a problem.

Apologetics Live episode 119

Do all the spiritual gifts, like tongues, continue today, or did some of the sign gifts cease? This is a debate among many Christians. Pastors Andrew and Justin will examine the Scriptures to discuss the topic from the Bible. We will see what God says on the topic. Though there is much discussion about charismatic or spiritual gifts, many come to different interpretations of Scripture because of their experience. Many Christians teach people about speaking in tongues, but is it biblical.

Andrew and Justin go through 1 Corinthians 12-14 and focus on 1 Corinthians 13:8-12 to answer the question have tongues ceased. Their explanation shows us that the charismatic gifts ceased with the completion of Scripture. When the cannon was closed then there was not more need for revelation gifts or gifts that would be to vindicate the authors of the Bible.

Apologetics Live episode 117

Sarah Cleveland joins Andrew, Anthony, and Justin to talk about abortion and abolitionism as a movement. They go through the problems of the past and abolitionism today. The key in the discussion is that abortion is murder, plain and simple. Many Christians are pro-life but Sarah explains the problems with the pro-life movement and how it is slowing the ending of abortion. Some Christians think a heartbeat bill is good enough, but Sarah explains why that does not go far enough either.

Sarah Cleveland is a nationally registered sonographer (RDMS) since 2004. She has worked in one of Ohio’s largest hospitals and small doctor’s offices alike scanning thousands of patients. She speaks on the dangerous and unbiblical methods of the pro-life movement and how its regulatory bills fail practically in the clinical setting, still allowing countless babies to die at the hands of their parents. She has testified twice against the Heartbeat bill in Ohio, assisted with statewide campaigns to have Abolition a top priority on candidates' platforms, speaks at churches and homeschool groups, and ministers on campuses and outside abortion mills. She is a Christ-follower, former foster parent and advocate of massive DJFS/CPS reform, homeschool advocate, mother of 5 wonderful children, and wife to Aaron. She currently resides in rural central Ohio.

A caller joins in with a question of writing a fiction novel and would that be considered adding to the Bible.

Apologetics Live episode 116

Jim Osman and Drew Von Nieda discuss Premillennialism vs Postmillennialism with regard to the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ. This was a good discussion of the ideas without attacking each other. Jim argues that premillennialism requires a bodily resurrection of Christ and believes that can be argued from Peter and Paul in Acts 2:22-36 and 13:22-38. Drew argues that the bodily resurrection of Jesus is necessary for salvation but not for the kingdom.

They answered a question related to the binding of Satan and is he bound now or not. They both explained from their positions of eschatology how they view the binding of the strong man that Jesus spoke about in Matthew 12 and if that is a reference to Revelation 20. Some discussion was had on Revelation 20 and the literalness of that passage. There are different views between premillennialism and postmillennialism when it comes to Revelation 20. Jim offers a counter rebuttal asking if David and the prophets would have expected a literal kingdom as premillennialism hold to rather than a figurative one as postmillennialism holds to.
