  • Pride and Humility
This is the second installment in the Seven Deadly Sins series. On this show, host Sam Welbaum and panelists Derek Brover, Joe Slunaker, Justin Davis and Kurt Blake discuss the dangers of pride. The sin births all other sins and leads a person to a place of self-idolatry. In every aspect of the Christian life, including he realm of contending for the truth in apologetics, we are called to be humble and to seek the example of Christ. What is pride? What is humility? How can we focus on humility in our lives? This podcast attempts to do justice to these questions.

  • The Blood of Their Sons and Their Daughters
No society can be considered just that puts the innocent to death, and woe to those who make an unjust law. In the wake of the Kermit Gosnell trial, and the 14 year prison sentence of John Walden for tricking his girlfriend into taking an abortion pill, the crime of killing the unborn has thrust itself into the consciousness of our nation afresh. Lindsay Brooks is joined by Scott Klusendorf in the first half hour to talk about the philosophical arguments that are put forward in defense of abortion and how they fail. Then Devin and Melissa Pellew of “Theology Matters with the Pellews” spare us an hour to teach us how to do sidewalk counseling near abortion clinics. ***WARNING*** In the final half hour, Lindsay reads the testimony of Dr. Anthony Levatino before the Subcommittee on The Constitution and Civil Justice regarding H.R. 1797, the “District of Columbia Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act”. It is graphic and heart-rending, but lest we lose sight of what it is we are talking about, it is crucial that we hear what really happens in an abortion.

  • The Foolishness of the Gospel
Sometimes apologetics is thought of as a purely argumentative endeavor, debating against error and attack. This might be the focus of giving an apologetic for sports teams, secular ideologies, or a favorite restaurant, but the reality is that Christian apologetics are always rooted in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. How does the message that the Apostle Paul calls “foolishness” in 1 Corinthians 1 factor into what is usually seen as a reasoned and wise defense of Christian doctrines? This week’s show explores the role of the Gospel in biblical models of apologetics, incremental apologetics steps towards evangelism, and the life of the Christian apologist.

  • You Won't Believe What Happened! 2013 In Review and Looking Ahead
Christopher Neiswonger, Aaron Davies, and Lindsay Brooks will look back at 2013 and see what tasks it gives us as Christians moving forward. Columnist and blogger, Rachel Held Evans, in a tried and true technique of beating up the Bride of Christ, ended the year with a blog making apologies. She said, "I’m sorry that this season has become about fights over manger scenes on public property." Yet surely freedom of religion is one of the biggest matters facing Christians and it showed up in spades last year. We talk about the following other key issues from the last year: Abortion, Homosexuality and Gay Marriage, Freedom of Religion, Persecution, and Theological Challenges.

  • How To Speak To An Atheist
We find that, today Atheism is on an unprecedented move and has become a global phenomenon. And that is precicely what so called “New Atheists,” like Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris and Daniel Dennett are religiously fighting for. There use to be a time, not so long ago, when atheism was the belief system that dared not speak its name or make its presence known. But, that’s not the case anymore, the kind of influence it is having on our popular culture is much more than what we have usually seen. It will be an intentional flight from reality on our part if we ignore the resurgence of interest in the case against God. The question of God’s existence is back in the forefront of public dialogue, which is seen in the form of best-selling books, billboards, bus campaigns and public debates, and has spurred a generation of agnostics and skeptics. Not only this, they have also disturbed the hearts and minds of many believers. And now, that we’re encountering it often, many Christians find themselves ill prepared to counter the challenges offered by this kind of muscular atheism. At apologetics.com we believe that this trend can be reversed, if we are prepared according to the mandated given in the scripture and present with confidence the truth and reason for our faith. In this show, Staff Apologists Harry Edwards, Sam Welbaum, Richard Parks and Jacob Daniel is joined by a special guest Donald J. Johnson (Author: ‘How to Talk to a Skeptic”) to discuss ‘How To Speak To An Atheist’ and help our listeners to prepare for an effective apologetics.

  • End Times Options
When most people in the church hear "The End Times" they think of the book of Revelation, an AntiChrist, the rapture of the church and Kirk Cameron (joking:]). But, are there other options? In this episode, host Sam Welbaum is joined by Kurt Blake, Joe Slunaker and author/scholar Ken Samples to address the idea of what options do Christians have for eschatology (the study of last things). Is the book of Revelation talking about the past or the future? Does Christ return before or after the Millennium? Is there something called the rapture? Are Israel and the church distinct? And what possible other answers are there to these questions? The panel also focuses in and asks "How do we have in house discussions on heated topics?" and "Is there a mere eschatology that all Christians can agree with?"
