Bill has been playing in bands since the 80's. Originally from Sault Sainte Marie, Bill moved to southern Ontario to be in a band. Finding his way to Toronto, He formed NC-17 with Grieg Nori. That band turned into Treble Charger and that band went on to gain an American record deal with RCA and Canadian fame with Gold selling albums. Bill also is the founding member of Broken Social Scene, a pretty important band in Canadian indie rock history. Years of label issues and inter-personal issues drove Bill to leave Treble Charger for over 10 years. After reacquainting his friendship with Grieg, Treble Charger was reborn with a new vision and focus on the love of music over awards and cash grabs.

  • #115 Gary Begner
Gary Begner hails from Oshawa Ontario or lovingly known as the "dirty 'shwa". To be serious, Oshawa was and probably still is the perfect blend of the rough downtown and the rich suburbs that geographically is about 2kms apart from each other. Saying that, suburb kids can go downtown Oshawa and see a show and not have to really bother about getting to Toronto to catch some culture. In the 80's, Oshawa was a little different and a little more rough than it is now. but that's only my opinion. That's when Gary started putting on shows in rented venues as opposed to clubs. the only reason for this was for financial survival as an independent local band. Gary also had a band in the 90's called LAME that received some positive attention in the mid 90's. These days Gary lives in London Ontario running his own screen printing shop out of his house. You can check out the site here at http://www.shirtforbrains.ca/ .

  • #113 Chad Dziewior
Chad Dziewior and I originally met in Minneapolis in the early 90's. He would give the band I played in a couch to sleep on while we stopped through while on tour. Chad's band "threadbare" was known nationally and toured throughout the 90's. He's played in many other bands, too many to name. He mentions some of them in the podcast. In the show we get caught up on what's been going on for the past 15 years (we haven't spoken since the early 2000's) We talk about music and the industry. We talk about Trump and the fear of Trump. All around a great talk and episode!

  • #112 Steve Krecklo
Steve Krecklo is a professional musician and is currently working in the TV world writing music for a cartoon. Steve got his start playing in groups like The Carnations and with solo artists like Kaos. Steve is one of the most talented musicians I know. He's humble and a general all around good guy. We met at his home where he was under a bit of a deadline so I was happy that he could curve out an hour to talk and get caught up.

  • #111 Jason King
Jason King started promoting shows in Oshawa Ontario when he was 15 years old. He's responsible for some pretty important moments in music for the punk rock scene in his town. Oshawa's distance from Toronto was just far enough to allow a touring band to pick up a show the day before or after the big city. That's what made Oshawa a viable option. There is still a strong scene in "the Shwa" and part of that is because of Jason's early input. Jason also opened one of Oshawa's first skateboard shops called "Alcatraz" and ran it well until the big mall stores opened up. A good hang and a good guy! thanks Jason!
