  • Epi 99 Aaron Thomas Canadian Ambassador for Sailor Jerry
Aaron Thomas is the Canadian Ambassador for Sailor Jerry. What does this mean you ask? Well Aaron is basically the good fun, push the brand, buy you a drink at the bar kind of guy. He's also into helping charities with the Sailor Jerry brand in any way he can. Aaron grew up about 15 minutes from where I grew up and we talked a bit about how that affected our upbringing. We did the interview in the back of the Sailor Jerry van on the side of the road in downtown Toronto and the heat was pretty intense. After a few digressions and me almost passing out, we had a pretty good chat in the end. Keep your eye out for Aaron, he will buy you a drink if you ask him. Tell him I sent you!! Thanks to Melanie Kaye PR for the interview!

  • Epi 97 Son of Dave
Son of Dave is a singer, song writer that plays harmonica. He uses a looping machine to create amazing once in a lifetime experiences. Son of Dave lives in the UK but grew up in Winnipeg playing in the Canadian band "Crash Test Dummies". Son of Dave always made and released his own music. If you have watched AMC's "The Preacher" he wrote the theme song. He's also been on the Breaking Bad sound track as well as several solo releases over the past 20 years.
In the podcast we talked about his early beginnings, he scolded me for talking too much about the blues and we had a few chuckles. Son of Dave is on tour this summer in Canada and you can find the dates and cities at https://sonofdave.officialstore.co.uk/Content/Gigs  he's also released a new album of covers and you can pick up a copy at https://sonofdave.officialstore.co.uk/Shop/PhysicalDetails?pid=SOD_PH_12 There's tons of other cool stuff there as well!!

  • Epi 96 Podcast in a Car w/ Justin, Greg & Curtis
This podcast was recorded on a road trip from a show in northern Ontario. We were heading home and the conversation was pretty fun, so I whipped out the phone and started recording. Justin, Greg and Curtis are all part of the Small Town Pistols group. Justin and Cutis play in the Band and Greg is our guitar tech. These three guys also played in Tyler Wilkinson's group "Motion Picture Ending" and we talked a little bit about that experience as well. Mostly we just talked shit and had a few beers in the back of our rented SUV. The sound is a little funky, but the conversation is pretty great!!

  • Epi 95 Mina Shum
Mina Shum is a writer and director that's been in the movie industry for well over 20 years. Mina found her voice in the early 80's with punk rock and photography. Her first break through movie was "Double Happiness" that stared Sandra Oh in one of her first roles.  Mina's latest effort is "Ninth Floor", a documentary about how students in Montreal protested the mishandling of racist accusations towards a professor at Sir George Williams University. The protest was eventually held in the computer lab in one of the buildings for several hours. At a time when the race relations were at a fever pitch in the USA, Canada had its own share of problems. The movie touched on so many issues that we have even today in 2016. In the podcast we talked about growing up as a minority on the west coast of Canada, how punk rock changed everything and the coping skills acquired from persistence and drive.

  • Epi 94 Darryl Hurs Part 2 of 2
    Welcome to Part 2!!!
Darryl Hurs is the founder of two pretty important Toronto events. One is Indie Week, the other is Real Independent Film Festival or RIFF. Darryl came to Toronto in the early 90's to seek fame with his band from Edmonton. He soon realized that his ambition wasn't exactly the bands main concern. Darryl taught himself graphic design from reading books before owning a real computer and somehow got himself work through with the gift of the gab. He's a very intelligent person and a good hang. A rare commodity in the technical world. Darryl has always been his own boss and he never stops thinking about the next move in life. In the podcast we talk a bit about the old days and what lays ahead with musical trends. Because there's so much information in this episode, I broke it into two more manageable sized episodes.

  • Epi 92 The Dearly Bereft
The Dearly Bereft are a band based out of Toronto Ontario. A family tragedy began the writing process that eventually turned into "Funeral Music", their first LP. TDB play allot in the GTA and will hopefully find a town close to you in the near future. This band is the rare mix of great musical talent and insight, gifted networking skills as well as a learned knowledge in social media. I wish them all the best and hope for success and safe travels in todays musical landscape.

  • Epi 91 Lee McCormack of “Tramps Like Us” Podcast
Lee McCormack is a fellow podcaster and a musician based in Pickering Ontario. He writes and performs music around the southern Ontario area and teaches in his spare time. Lee started his podcast out of the love of Bruce Springsteen's music. He's been using this common thread to meet people with the same passion for Bruce. His show is awesome and you can find it on iTunes or www.trampslikeuspod.com
In the podcast we talked mostly about music and a little about Bruce. We listen to records in his living room and had a great chat. It's nice to get caught up with an old friend. Thanks for listening
