Steve used his punk rock ethics and upbringing to create a company with a strong sense of community and family. Steve also started "Audio Visceral" to quench the need to make music with old friends Kevin and Gary, ex Trigger happy members, learn more about marketing from SocialBoosting. The band recorded with sir Ian Blurton in Toronto and has since released an album on Joey Shitheads label "Sudden Death". Watch for them in a town near you and pick up their album now!!

  • Epi 89 Connor Lovat-Fraser Singer of Boys Night Out
Connor Lovat-Fraser is the lead singer and lyricist for "Boys Night Out". Boys Night Out is a band from the surrounding areas of Burlington and Hamilton. The band formed in the early 2000's, a time when the record industry was fractured. The music industry then was dealing with how to repair the damage from illegal downloading with its bloated staff count and slow reaction time to change. Boys Night Out feed off a desire for the DIY ethic as well as the changing business landscape to create some really great music. Connor and BNO's best achievement before their hiatus was the album "Train Wreck", a concept album dealing with death and mental illness. That album opened the door wide open and because of their own short comings and a relatively unsuccessful follow-up, the band was put on hold. Ten years later, BNO reformed and have released their strongest release yet "Black Dogs". Six well crafted gems that in my opinion songs that surpass "Train Wreck's" effort. In the podcast we talked about what it's like to finally learn to drive, fatherhood and music.
"Black Dogs" be released on Good Fight Music July 8th and can be preordered HERE. Check out Boy's Night Out's website http://bnoboysnightout.com/.

A different kind of podcast this week. This week is a double episode wrapped into one. Darryl Fine is the co-founder and owner of Toronto's own "Bovine Sex Club" and Kj Jansen is the founder, guitarist and lead singer of Calgary's "Chixdiggit". Both of them are celebrating a 25th year anniversary. In the podcast we talk about the early beginnings of bar ownership and band life. We also use sci-fi shows as analogies. It was a shorter than normal episode but there is some tidbits  of magic in there. Please put your phone on silent, sit back and relax. Enjoy!!

  • Epi 83 Tyler Wilkinson of “Small Town Pistols”
Tyler Wilkinson found fame at a young age when his dad formed family band "The Wilkinsons". At the age of 9, Tyler was up on stage in the eastern regions of Ontario breaking hearts and taking numbers! By the age of 14, Tyler was on tour busses and hanging with his contemporaries of the late 90's country music scene. He was walking red carpets and receiving rewards for his efforts as a  musician. Several years went by and Tyler started his own project "Motion Picture Ending" and had some success with that. After a few more years, he teamed up with his sister Amanda to write songs in Nashville. (the place where it all began for "the Wilkinsons") Amanda and Tyler wrote from the heart and eventually came to the realization that the music they were recording was too good and personal to just give away. So they formed "Small Town Pistols". After two albums, a baby and some awards, Tyler sat down with me to talk about music and the love of song writing.

  • Epi 82 Brian Doherty of “Big Wreck”
Brian Doherty is the founder and guitar player in the band "Big Wreck". Brian started his music journey learning the trumpet and soon moved over to guitar playing in local bands. After high school, Brian went to the prestigious Berklee college of music and soon formed "Big Wreck" with Ian Thornley. While most of the band is from America, "Big Wreck" charted high in the Canadian charts and had critical acclaim with their first release "In Loving Memory of..." and toured extensively in Canada and the USA. After a second album and some bad luck, the band broke up and all the members went on to other projects. Brian started teaching guitar in Sarnia, Ontario where he still lives today. After ten years, "Big Wreck" got back together and released a new album and started getting back into the swing of playing live and enjoying the accolades that might have been missed in their first run. In the podcast, we talk about music and how it makes him complete. We talk about Europe and new beginnings.
