Apologue Podcast

Greg Bolton is in the business of acoustic solutions. His main job is installing the right gear in the right place. If it's larger venues like Massey Hall or an office buildings public address system, Greg's the guy. Greg and I met a few years ago while working for The Small Town Pistols. A band I Tour Manage and he guitar techs for. Greg played in a band with Tyler Wilkinson called Motion Picture Ending in the early to mid 2000's. Greg is a great guy to talk to and he's a good soul. We had a great talk.

Kevin Lyman started the Warped Tour to not only get the kids to come see the bands but to allow a space and conversation for social awareness that all adolescents go through. The Warped Tour started in the mid nineties and is still going every summer non stop playing anywhere and everywhere. Kevin is also involved in many other parts of the music business, but the Warped Tour is his baby. Every year he travels with the tour making sure everything is ok for bands and fans. I had the privilege of mixing SNFU on the tour's first trip to Toronto Canada in 1995. I also had the task of taking a very young Sum 41 all over the east coast in a van on what should have been a tour bus tour. Kevin is a humble down to earth guy and we had a great chat about the new president-elect and the state of touring in the present as apposed to the past.

Mister zero has been around music since the late seventies. He's been the guitar player and founding member of Canada's "The Kings" since 1977. The Kings had a break out hit in the USA and Canada called "This Beat Goes On/Switchin' to Glide". At almost 6 minutes long it was played all over radio and was a bonafide hit. Their first album was produced by Bob Ezrin who also produced "the Wall" by Pink Floyd and some Kiss albums. The Kings have almost two million plays on their YouTube channel and are getting about 800 plays a day as I type. A humble and gracious guest and we had a really good talk about what it was like having such great success at an early age of pre video and post AM radio technology.

Brendan Kelly and I first met in Holland in 2004 when our bands played together. Brendan started another band around then called the Falcon with members of Rise Against and Alkaline Trio. The Falcon has just released their 2nd album "Gather the Chaps" and will be touring the USA and Canada late 2016. You can find all the dates here at http://www.bandsintown.com/TheFalcon . We had one of my more favourite chats in the history of the podcast and I thank Brendan for that!

Oren Amitay is a court appointed parenting expert.  We met through a mutual friend to discuss life and parenting. It was a great chat in his east Toronto office that felt a little bit like a therapy session. And it was FREE! Oren has been a Registered psychologist since the late 90's and treats people is several therapies: like cognitive-behavioural (CBT), psychodynamic, acceptance (and commitment to change), humanistic/client centred, emotion focused, interpersonal (IPT), object-relations, and process experiential. So he's not messing around! A great chat and hang!
