The team from Mechanical Hub Media is embarking on a series of podcasts to highlight the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine and the impact is has our our building trade communities.

Our goal is simple, we want to raise money and share stories of organizations with boots on the ground serving meals, providing medical supplies, safe water and refugee relocation services to those in need. But to do so, we must amplify the voices of those most impacted by the crisis, Ukrainians.

We hope you find value in this series, and if possible, donate to one of many organizations helping in and around Ukraine. Thanks for listening to our Community Cares Podcast.

This week we reconnect with Linda Hudek (@thebrunetteplumber). She's been quite busy since the last time we visited with her. In addition to running her own business, LH Plumbing Services LLC, she has been appointed as president of the Ohio Chapter PHCC, she's going to the RIDGID experience this summer and she recently celebrated her one-year wedding anniversary. We talk about advocacy for the trades and the value of becoming a licensed plumber.

This is definitely the way. This week we talk with the Plumberlorian @theplumberlorian about his journey into the trades, how his degree in Mass Communications has helped with his podcast, The BeskarCollarBoys, and his social media interactions. Does he consider himself a role model? Of course, and his Instagram is proof positive that he wants to uplift the trades.

The boys go to Cleveland to rock out and find out how the sauce is made with Oatey's The Fix podcast team of Doug Buchan and Katherine Lehtinen.  As one can image with podcast hosts, one thing leads to another and they discuss the focus, vision and value of podcasting, training at Oatey University, strengthening the trades and living in a van down by the river. We stand or fall with this one.

How is it running a small business in California? "It isn't what the brochure says. Don't let the palm trees fool ya, boys. It is not easy," says Mike Lomonaco, owner, Lomonaco Coast Plumbing, San Clemente, Calif. Sure, he is located on California's coast where the temperature is 70 degrees year round, but competition—from unlicensed guys—to insurance to keeping up with technology, Mike discusses his journey into the trades and owning his own business. He is crushing it in the drain cleaning business.

The Niagara Sports Hub is back as we talk with Mike Fisher about the diva that is Aaron Rodgers, the NFL  Combine, the unfortunate state of affairs that is Major League Baseball and the Juwan Howard incident. Mike tells a cool story about being the first reporter ever to be "allowed" into the NFL Combine, and his wife needs a vacation. You won't find more sports packed into 20 minutes than right here!

The boys talk with Diego Lujan, and his enthusiasm for the trades and teaching others is palpable. Diego is owner of Aphalete Plumbing, Heating, Air in Colorado Springs, and he runs and teaches at Plumb-Tech Trade School. A self-proclaimed visionary, his work isn't done as he sees these schools all across the country. We talk about his culture, tattoos, family, American Plumber Stories, trade shows, climbing Pikes Peak, and keeping in good shape to be in the best state of mind he can be. What a great chat.
