Daniel Victor Jones, a 40-year-old man who was upset about HMO health insurance organizations, stopped his pickup truck in the middle of a busy Los Angeles freeway. A standoff with police ensued, and as numerous media outlets broadcast the event live on television, Jones died by suicide.
