Apron Work Podcast

In this week's episode, Apron Work Podcast has made history for two reasons. First, by adding our brand new co-host, Carlos Rodriguez! And secondly, this is the first-ever episode without Walton. But, as they say, the show must go on. So for this episode, we discuss the differences between AEW and WWE from two lifelong wrestling fans' perspectives. We talk about our opinions on both products, how we feel about fans who need to choose one or the other, and what we think both companies can be doing better.

In this week's episode, what we can only describe as the second most anticipated return to the wrestling world, WE'RE BACK, and we are here to discuss the return of the "Best in the World," CM Punk! After allowing time for this to sink in and to see how AEW has initially used Punk in their programming, we react to his return, what is next for him after his first match at All Out against Darby Allin, and how this may affect other rumored free agent signings for AEW. As a bonus, Respass gets two years' worth of venting out of his system about his views on the current state of wrestling, and Walton continues his man-crush on the man formerly known as Zack Ryder, Matt Cardona.

In this week's episode, we finally do something that we had discussed for a while as we had our very own wrestling draft as if we were beginning our own companies. We had strict rules that had us draft eight singles male wrestlers, six singles female wrestlers, and six tag teams (teams can consist of two or more members), but would not be allowed to take more than two from any existing company for any of the categories. We also had to make sure to label half of each category as heel or face, and each pick had to be announced as one and locked in during each selection. Between Respass and Walton, who do you believe has the better roster?

In this week's episode, we discuss the events of September 29th through October 6th and all of the wrestling happenings during that time. Respass attended both New Japan Pro Wrestling's Fighting Spirit Unleashed at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia and All Elite Wrestling's Wednesday Night Dynamite at the Capital One Arena in Washington DC and has a lot to say about both of those shows. Walton talks about his experience in Hogan's Beach Shop in Florida. We also talk about what happened on SmackDown's premiere episode on Fox, NXT on USA battling against AEW, and the controversy that surrounded the Hell In A Cell main event finish (or non-finish).

In this week's episode, we talk about the G1 Climax 29 matches so far, and Respass raves about the fact that he will be attending the New Japan Pro Wrestling's Fighting Spirit Unleashed show at 2300 Arena AND the premiere episode of AEW on TNT in Washington, DC. Then we discuss his experience in attempting to get the tickets on Ticketmaster, the announced matches so far, what mistakes they need to avoid, and who we believe could be the mystery partners for Chris Jericho.

In this week's episode, we decided to connect the wrestling world to the NBA due to changes happening this year in free agency with "Max Contract" players moving around more than ever before. After coming up with the idea shortly before recording and having no time to prepare, we decided to choose our Top 5 wrestlers in the world today who would deserve a "Max Contract" in our eyes, without selecting the same wrestler twice. Before getting into all of this, a tongue-in-cheek hypothetical question about the NBA's new coach's challenge rule being incorporated into wrestling today, specifically WWE, was discussed.

In this week's episode, what should have been our return from hiatus episode (damn you, WWE!), we take an in-depth look into this year's New Japan Pro-Wrestling's G1 Climax 29. And by in-depth, we mean not very deep at all since our knowledge is pretty limited. Either way, we give a quick rundown on what this is, look into which matches we are looking forward to, whether or not we plan to watch the whole thing, how you can watch these matches, and who we think is going to win it all. We also explain our Prediction Contest we are running for this tournament for all of you listeners out there to join in on for a chance to win a WWE 2K18 John Cena Plaque. You read that correctly, an NJPW contest with a John Cena prize. You're welcome.

In this week's episode, after a two-month hiatus, we are back and better than ever! Now officially only a two-host podcast, we intended on coming back next week with a special NJPW G1 Climax 29 preview, but WWE had to give us something that needed discussing right away. Going in the way back machine, WWE has hired Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff (yes, you are reading that correctly) as the "Executive Directors" of RAW and SmackDown, respectively. We react on the hirings, how we think this will work out and what is needed for this to be successful for WWE. Also, we announce a fun little giveaway predictions contest that we are having for the NJPW's G1 Climax 29.

In this week's episode, exactly 50 episodes after our original "Mount Rushmore of Professional Wrestling" episode, we take an in-depth look at which four women's wrestlers of all time would make up our own personal Women's Mount Rushmore of Professional Wrestling. We start things off by finishing up our reactions to the WrestleMania 35 Main Event involving women for the first time in its history. We then discuss who we chose and why we made our decisions, take a look into who our Women's Mount Rushmore of NXT would be, and the impact of some non-WWE women wrestlers and those who may not have made our lists. There is also a funny story about how Peach asked Walton an opinion about some recent news that proved he does not listen to this podcast and how Respass may not view Shawn Michaels in the same light as most wrestling fans do.

In this week's episode, we discuss the results of NXT TakeOver: New York and WrestleMania 35, as well as Walton's trip to the ROH/NJPW G1 Supercard at Madison Square Garden. With three huge events with the potential to all be great cards, we gave a rundown on the events of each night and how we ultimately felt about the results of each. And we have an even bigger surprise than a Kushida signing, a Big Cass and Enzo takeover, or even an old-school rapping, Doctor of Thuganomics, John Cena. That surprise is that Peach was NOT here for this episode.
