Welcome back, all you fellow archivists to the conclusion of our first two-part episode on the cult of the Aten. In this episode, his ankle bracelet and home detention sentence are no obstacle for DJ Bumsplitter, who tags in via Zoom to give life to some poetry. We find out just what it takes to be deliberately erased from history, how someone can accidentally walk into a donkey show while looking for Grandma's house and Jon teams up with a Death Metal band to speculate wildly about the manner of Akhenaten's downfall. No animals were harmed in the making of this podcast, but a few mummies got desecrated and many an execration text was brutally smashed!

Welcome back, fellow archivists! In this second season, we're diving into cults and sects from history. In this first two-part episode, Jon and Chatto travel back in time to Ancient Egypt during the reign of the 18th dynasty to explore the cult of the Aten, created by the heretic Pharaoh Akhenaten. Jon tries to get his marbles together after a bump on the noggin, Chatto reveals his dark side and we learn why you shouldn't go swimming in the Nile. A good time will be had by all except Jon's Mum, who thinks this podcast is absolute puerile filth.

In this second free bonus episode, Jon finds himself crushed under the thumb of an evil Russian brewery and forced to abandon what little integrity he had to begin with by plugging their hobo beer. With that out of the way, Jon and Chatto find themselves amongst the piss-pots and cobbled streets of Republic-era Rome, hot on the trail of a rash of dead Patricians and whispers of a conspiracy. We also find out when baboons were invented and why driving a nail through a piece of wood fixes everything ever.
Ahoy, fellow archivists! In this episode, Jon and Chatto crawl through the jungle to the ancient Sri Lankan city of Ahuradhapura to unearth the story of history's first recorded female serial killer (and archetypal black widow), Anula of Ahuradhapura. As always, shenanigans abound as Jon ponders how much wood a wood-carrier could carry if a wood carrier could carry would and Chatto takes a ride on a vibrating elephant. Plus Jon dunks on Men's Rights Activists, which is always good for a hearty giggle.
Because I'm feeling generous, the bonus episodes are on the house this month! Here's a taste of the quality podcasting that could be yours if you became a patron. In this episode, Jon and Chatto dig back through the sands of ancient Arabia to find a man named Zu Shenitar. Spoiler alert: he was NOT a good dude!
All the way from Rio Blanco, Nicaragua, our special musical guest DJ Bumsplitter drops by! DJ Bumsplitter lays down some old-school beats while Jon spits some dope rhymes. Jon also waxes poetic about parallels between Zu Shenitar and the late, great Biggie Smalls while Chatto hollas at all the small to medium-sized girl dogs in the audience.
This week, Jon and Chatto travel back to Ancient Han Dynasty China to uncover the case of Liu Pengli, the earliest recorded serial killer in history. Historical records and wild speculation on Jon's part collide in a brutal show of force!
Join Jon and Chatto on this inaugural first episode of Archives of Atrocity as they journey back in time to Ancient Greece. Although technically a myth, the tale of Procrustes the Stretcher is one of the earliest recorded accounts of somebody we would refer to as a serial killer.
