 In this era when men are accused of masculine toxicity, Dr. Jackson answers the question -  are fathers really necessary? For better or for worse, modern medical technology has transformed reproduction. Like something out of a sci-fi movie, women can walk into a clinic and leave pregnant, including those who aren't married and don't want a man involved except as a seed donor. Is it possible that fathers aren't necessary at all, or do we have a "father absence crisis" in America?
