Thank you for being part of the conversation. This is Play It Forward. Real people. Real stories. The struggle to Play It Forward Episode 556 With Richard Williams From The Group Kansas

In 1973, the “garage band” from Topeka was discovered by Wally Gold, signed by Don Kirshner, and

released their debut album in 1974. KANSAS has gone on to compile a catalogue that includes sixteen

studio albums and five live albums. KANSAS has produced eight gold albums, three sextuple-Platinum

albums (Leftoverture, Point of Know Return, Best of KANSAS), one platinum live album (Two for the

Show), one quadruple-Platinum single ‘Carry On Wayward Son,’ and another triple-Platinum single ‘Dust

in the Wind.’ Most recently, KANSAS has released two Billboard charting albums with 2016’s The Prelude

Implicit and 2020’s The Absence of Presence.

“Our entire career has been a winding journey,” comments KANSAS guitarist and original member

Richard Williams. “Whether it’s been the ‘original’ lineup signing with Don Kirshner, years on the bus,

touring with Queen, worldwide success peaking with Leftoverture & Point of Know Return, the valleys of

the 90’s and ‘dinosaur bands’ losing steam, various lineup changes, to our most recent ‘rebirth’ and

success of our latest new music over the last eight years; there have been several forks in the road of

that journey. This 50th Anniversary Tour and release will represent that journey and the forks along that

    road.”

To further celebrate the band’s 50th Anniversary, InsideOutMusic has released Another Fork in the Road

    – 50 Years of KANSAS. The 3-CD career-spanning collection features carefully selected tracks from

across KANSAS’s sizable discography. It also includes a new version of the song ‘Can I Tell You.’

Originally released on their 1974 debut album, the song is updated by the current lineup. Another Fork in

the Road – 50 Years of KANSAS is available now. Fans can order it here -

  • JC Cervantes Releases Lords Of The Night

New York Time best-selling author J.C.CERVANTES is a believer in magic and

searches for it in all corners of the word. As an author of books for children and
young adults she writes about a pre-teen who gets pulled into adventures with
various gods and the shadow bruja Ren and her quest to prevent the nine Aztec
Lords of Night from awakening in THE LORDS OF THE NIGHT.

Fourteen-year-old Renata Santiago is the most powerful godborn of them all, a

bruja with a unique combination of DNA. The Mexica blood from her dad's side
gives her the ability to manipulate shadows. Her mom Pacific, a Maya goddess,
gifted her a magical rope that controls time, and Ren recently used it to save a few
gods from getting stuck forever in 1987. She brought them back to the present, but
her BFF Ah Puch, the once fearsome god of death, darkness, and destruction, is
now a teenager with no divine powers.
Ren  is also a girl with ordinary hopes and dreams. She wishes, for example,  that her blog about alien sightings would garner more respect. She's  always been absolutely convinced that there's a connection between  aliens and the Maya civilization. Plenty of online haters feel  differently, and they call her a fake, a liar, and a loser.
When Ren  receives an email about an alien sighting in Kansas, she thinks it may  support her theory. She also suspects that the cinco--five renegade  godborns--are up to no good. Soon she finds herself embroiled in a quest  to prevent the troublemakers from awakening the nine Aztec Lords of  Night. Problem is, none of Ren's friends are available to help  her hunt down the cinco and the dangerous gods they are resurrecting.  Ren has no choice but to team up with two strangers recruited by Ah  Puch: Edison, a teen hybrid demon, and Montero, an eleven-year-old
Aztec  hunter. Succeeding in this quest will prove that Ren is no fake, liar,  or loser. But it isn't just another challenge. It could well be an  impossible one that leaves Ren questioning her very existence.

  • The Daily Mess Zipper Merging

An old term but new to me: Zipper Merge.  When a highway under construction brings two lanes of traffic into one.  Instead of rushing drivers into a single lane, traffic experts lay out the barriers in a way that zips 2 long lines of cars into one.  Zipper Merge.  Can it be used in our personal lives?  The way we work, talk,  think and process other people coming into our mental lanes.  I'm guilty of taking on too much at one time.  Multi tasking has been the business world way for a couple of decades.  To toss everything onto the highway at once causes confusion and mistakes are going to be made.  Learning to live a Zipper Merge way could ease the stress and lower the anxiety.  The only requirement is to turn it into a daily discipline.
