META FILM PROJECT is a multi-year, multi-media film project based in various neighborhoods in and around Louisville, KY.
This short film will feature a wide range of art forms, focusing on street art, architecture, and local business throughout the city.
Tied together with interviews of community artists, this collection of short films will feature the similarities and differences in many art forms and challenges preconceived ideas; making room for connection and knowledge. The artists, locations, and artwork will feature the unique diversity and engagement of the Louisville arts community, and promote empathy for the transformative and the healing power of the arts to revitalize communities through mentorship, artistic collaboration and exploration.
During my unique five years of exploration as a Content Creator, I’ve felt the gestation and miscarriage of many creative seeds. I’m honored and excited to introduce my overdue baby.
This project has fertilized my imagination and wreaked havoc on my emotions; I've guessed and 2nd guessed millions of times, wanting only the best for my treasured offspring.
Naming it and renaming it, trying to locate the perfect image too let it stand out. Considering all of the best directions for it's perfect growth, envisioning how it will be a leader in an ocean of competition.
Overcorrecting what was already perfect; the way a mother can't help …but wishes she could. Fierce and Protective like a mother to her child, I’ve learned what it is to be a brave creator in an unpleasant environment.
This project is an extension of me; composed of my best attributes. Giving fearlessly and encouraging others to look deeply; promoting a more beautiful and sustainable world.
My baby's name is, META and she wants to show the world beauty, she wants to serve as a link between the dark and a light, bridging a gap and promoting truth.
I've nourished her like a baby, I've lost sleep and put my body through the wringer, giving up on all the things that made my previous life fun, because I needed a way to make an imprint
I choose META as my legacy.
Parenting provides a legacy and helps us become worth remembering.
META is my offering to the world, meant to uplift and to enrich and continue to grow and expand.
Like all protective parents, I want full custody and claim on META’s progress but thoughtfully and respectfully I want her to mature and gain the ability to self- sustain.
Like all great parents, I've been thoughtful and calculated in the foundation I've set.
With appropriate community support and funding META will thrive; growing wings and sustaining future creatives who strive to make the world more livable through tolerance and creativity.
Through lose and alienation, I’ve learned several important lessons regarding harvesting untapped potential.
Firstly: We owe ourselves creative incubation time. Don’t Rush a great Product.
Secondly: Finding a safe and stable environment is impossible if you Analyze Data. -Best to push forward without all questions answered – Intuition can be a creator’s best gift.
Thirdly: Discomfort and Pain are part of the Creation Process: Balancing your role as “parent” and learning to “let go” are lessons that continue to evolve and require love and attention as your creation grows.
