My thoughts on NFT's after creating my genesis piece on Open Sea, reflecting on the place of individualism and also sharing the simple but game changing advice that I found through Bob Proctor, who passed away last month but whose teachings live on, helping creativity and self understanding flourish all over the world. I hope you also get something special out of these potent ideas and how they relate to creativity too!
This first episode is to introduce myself to you as the host and share my background as a visual artist, globally exhibiting my work since 2010, following my degree in Sculpture and Combined Media from LSAD, Limerick, Ireland.
To set the context for the podcast moving forward, I share my views on creativity, shaped by my unique life experiences as the youngest in a family of 12, moving between Ireland and Yukon, north Canada and my research into identity, informed by enlightenment teachings and my own meditation practice.
TRUE SELF - TRUE CONNECTION - TRUE CREATION
Juicy behind the scenes details on the future of MOB, particularly a drawing project that has been growing for far too long! Mike spontaneously discusses the potentials of this work in development with 'Baby Art Historian' Mariah Elmor, covering humour inspired drawing and sculptures to bringing authentic culture and the artist to viewer relationship into the gallery environment.
If you opt out of blindfolding yourself like Mariah used to for writing!... Something simple I find helpful is to turn my phone on silent and simply write using physical materials that I am fond of and then doing the digital version of it later once it evolves more and more as my ideas become refined through the physical process first!
Mariah pivoted from studying architecture to art history and now lives in a 100 year old attic in Indianapolis, Indiana in the US.
Kevin is my brother and we often dissect the interrelated creative processes we engage in on a regular basis. In this episode we reflect on the 'inner saboteur' that often holds creative people back and dissect how to understand and overcome it.
MOB is visual gallery exhibiting artist Michael O'Brien and Pharaii Dambisa is County Kerry based performing and recording rapper/poet.
