ERIC MARTIN of MR.BIG Part 2 | Artists On Record
TODAY'S EPISODE : ERIC MARTIN REMEMBERS PAT TORPEY

MR. BIG is putting on their signature top hats and old shoes one last time for a worldwide tour, aptly titled “The BIG Finish.” Since the band’s original drummer and co-founder, Pat Torpey, lost his battle with Parkinson’s disease in 2018, the band now feels it’s time to mark the end of this chapter of their legacy.
After 35 years of being addicted to that perpetually electrifying performance rush, the band feels it’s finally time to collectively hang up their top hats and shoes after coming together for one final, extended curtain call — a curtain call that will take them on an all-out world tour commencing in 2023 that will go for as long as, well, as long as MR. BIG fans demand it.

The first leg will take the band to Japan and Southeast Asia in July and August, while shows in South America, Europe, and the U.S. will launch in early 2024 and will be announced soon.

Check out MR. BIG at any of the following tour stops:

EDGAR WINTER | Artists On Record

Edgar Winter 65th annual Grammy Awards Winner Celebrating BROTHER JOHNNY!

Edgar Winter’s hard work on the 2022 all-star tribute album that he organized to honor his late brother, Johnny Winter, has been recognized by the Recording Academy.
Edgar Winter and fellow producer Ross Hogarth were the recipients, on Feb. 5, 2023, of the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album for Brother Johnny. Edgar called it “a momentous and unexpected honor.”

He went out of his way to thank his wife, Monique, “to whom I have been married happily and blissfully for some 43 years now… and the great musicians whose amazing performances made this record what it is and all the fans that have followed Johnny’s and my careers all of these years.” He closed with, “As Johnny and I would always say, ‘Keep on rocking!'”

DON McLEAN ON THE SONG THAT INSPIRED THE  BUDDY HOLLY MOVIE
Dion DiMucci on The Day The Music Died

On this day in 1959, Buddy Holly, JP Richardson (aka The Big Bopper) and Ritchie Valens, along with pilot Roger Peterson, died in a plane crash shortly after takeoff from Clear Lake, Iowa. Holly had hired the plane after heating problems developed on his tour bus. The three musicians were traveling to Fargo, N.D., for the next show on their Winter Dance Party Tour, which covered 24 cities in three weeks. Holly had arranged the tour after the breakup of his band, The Crickets. The date was dubbed "The Day the Music Died" by Don McLean, who sang about it in his song, "American Pie."

#Christinemcvie #fleetwoodmac #classicrock

Christine McVie, who played with Fleetwood Mac and wrote some of their most famous songs, has died aged 79.
The British singer-songwriter was behind hits including Little Lies, Everywhere, Don't Stop, Say You Love Me, and Songbird.

She died peacefully at a hospital in the company of her family, a statement said.

Bandmate Stevie Nicks paid tribute, tweeting a heartfelt handwritten note: "A few hours ago I was told that my best friend in the whole world since the first day of 1975, had passed away.

"I didn't even know she was ill... until late Saturday night.

"I wanted to be in London; I wanted to get to London - but we were told to wait. So, since Saturday, one song has been swirling around in my head, over and over and over.

"I thought I might possibly get to sing it to her, and so, I'm singing to her now. I always knew I would need these words one day."

Robert Gordon is a man born out of time.  Has Passed away at the Young  Age Of 75.

Many fans and music historians believe that, had he been recording in the ’50s, he might have become a rockabilly legend. Instead, he kickstarted the worldwide rockabilly revival in 1977 with the release of his debut album, Robert Gordon With Link Wray, made in tandem with the guitar legend behind the 1958 instrumental hit “Rumble.”
