You give me sugar dreams
whenever you’re not here,
beneath my quilted seams
I feel you oh, so near.
After long bitter days
you sweeten up my night,
warm kisses and long hugs
fill my sleeping with delight!
And though it’s not the same
as when you’re here with me,
I share your distant love
That comes so dreamily.
comes so dreamily....
You dedicated your life
to helping to achieve world peace,
I’m proud that you’re my wife
cause its so plain to see....
that you give sugar me dreams
you give sugar me dreams
And you give sugar dreams...
to those in war torn lands
bringing needed relief
to them straight from your hands
Fresh water, food to eat
medicines and shelter
with tiny tots sitting at your feet
worshipping their helper.
I’ve gladly chosen to
make sacrifices
and though I am alone,
you fill my nights with
the sweetest spices
and put meat on
some hungry bones,
far from our precious home
And though I pray.... that you
will remain safe,
I’m sure God protects you
as you bring joy to tiny waifs,
Helping moms left destitute,
finding dads some things to do,
till they’re back up on their feet
and their lives are more complete,
each night filled with sugar dreams
because of all your kindly deeds,
And when you finally get home
you’ll tend to all my needs,
with the cure of your sweet love,
offering the shelter of your arms,
that so long I’ve been dreaming of.
With fresh water falling from your eyes
as we feed on what was left empty,
I will be no longer left destitute
as your lovely body tempts me,
and I’m sure that I’ll find lots to do
that just might bring us both,
some tiny tots sitting at your feet
your own...... who love you most
