The Colorado Avalanche made a couple roster moves in terms of their injured players and their salary cap. Placing Gabriel Landeskog and Darren Helm on LTIR does free up space for now with their salary cap, and if the Avs wanted to go out and bring in a player or two they could.

But the Avs will have to be creative if they want to go that route with Gabe and Helm's caps numbers waiting there once they are able to return. It will be interesting to watch over the next couple of days or weeks.

Even with all the injuries the Avs have been suffering, they went out and beat a very good Carolina Hurricanes team last weekend 4-1, with great performances from their top guys like Mikko Rantanen, Cale Makar and Nathan MacKinnon.
