We also touch on The Conjuring, people in Venezuela who grind for gold in online games to earn real-life pennies on the dollar, and Bryan's story about a playdate in a pink room.

  • Episode 61 "What Animal Are YOU?"
David opens up the podcast today with a conversation on our levels of intelligence. Are people as smart and/or deserving of praise as we think we are? Then we talk a bit about Bo Burnham's Netflix special, Brie Larson not being liked by her costars, and Impractical Jokers. We also talk about books, 80s films, and Bryan's love of Grease 2. Nuno then tells us about his recent IT Helpdesk interview where his interviewer seemed to be very curious about what kind of animal Nuno would want to be. We end by talking about the pay rates of teachers by state and their happiness levels.

  • Episode 60 "Climb or Die"
In this episode of As We Digress, we have a long conversation on rock climbing, MMA workouts, and the expense of gyms. Bryan then tells us a couple stories of his old catering days for a wedding. We also talk a bit about musician and YouTuber Corpse and his wonderfully deep voice; and the discrepancy between the prices, quality, and quantity of food at high end (pretentious) restaurants compared to everyday ones. After talking about Nuno's favorite actress Margot Robbie and her interaction with Jim Carrey, we talk about the pretentiousness of avant-garde and high art. And we close with a talk on a couple Jake Gyllenhaal films: Velvet Buzzsaw and Nocturnal Animals.

  • Episode 59 "I Want To Believe"
This week, we talk a lot about UFO's and the existence of aliens. How far does the belief in aliens date back to? Are the people on "Ancient Aliens" getting somewhere? Somehow, we go from aliens, to Julius Caesar. We then reminisce for awhile on our grade-school, and high-school days.

  • Episode 58 "Movies, Ghosts, and Sordid Tales"
Nuno talks to us about his new favorite director Bong Joon-Ho and his film Memories of Murder along with other impressive South Korean films. We talk about Amazon's "Invincible" and how great it is, feral kids, Nuno's issues with AMC and The Walking Dead, and some old sordid tales of Bryan's. David also brings up the idea of writing stories and bringing them onto the podcast. We also discuss urban exploration and the existence of ghosts. This leads Badon to show us a YouTube video from "Finders Beepers History Seekers" where they saw...something. They're great, check them out.

  • Episode 57 "I Want My Sugar-Free Froyo"
This week we ramble about tattoos, sexuality, religion, Chauvin, and the possible crumble of the human species. Fun stuff ;) Bryan tells us a story about a "high time" at a hot tub and we also get into a tangent on Demi Lovato and her issues with froyo -- which Badon is very upset about.

  • Episode 56 "Court Battles and Screenplays"
This week, we talk about the murder of George Floyd and the ongoing trial which Nuno has been watching. As well as the murder itself, we talk about bystanders and the cowardice expressed by groups of onlookers against a crime in progress. Badon fills Nuno in on his firing, Bryan fills us in on digital blackface, and David proposes another trip to Massachusetts. Badon calls out Nuno when he brings up writing together again. We read David's story intro.

  • Episode 55 "Skip the Small Talk, and Just Fire Me"
The three of us recorded this episode back to back with last week's episode so again, forgive the audio change. This lengthy episode is essentially a rant about Badon's recent firing. After a week of working part-time as "digital content writer", Badon gets fired via email. Apparently, 20 hours of work wasn't enough time to make him as skilled at the job as an employee with two years of experience...who knew?! We then end with a short discussion on loss opportunities and relying on outside elements when creating art.

  • Episode 54 "The Third Return of AWD"
After a month, three of us get together to record in Bryan's make-shift studio, so forgive the audio change. We go over Bryan's 23andMe results and talk briefly on religion and college requirements. This leads us into discussing the rights of trans children, social justice, Alex Jones, and peoples' willingness to believe whatever they read online. We touch upon the misleading significance of the "unemployment rate" being low and our former president.

About As We Digress

From the publisher's feed

"As We Digress" is a podcast started by four uninformed friends who can't help but frequently go off topic. Every week David, Nuno, Badon, & Bryan get together for a chat about anything from current events, movies, hot-button topics, and more. AWD is a conversation amongst friends who have known one another for over a decade. If you're looking for deep and -- at times -- monotonous conversations...look no further!
