As We Digress

The AWD crew spends a long time reminiscing about the old TV shows of our childhoods; including Drake & Josh, Zoey 101, and iCarly. Badon and Nuno then break into an argument about the differences between a skateboard and a longboard... We also talk about face tattoos, COVID-19, politics, and hoarders. And Nuno complains about geese.

Nuno tries to get David and Badon to give up their summer trip to Japan on account of COVID-19. We get sarcastic about conspiracy theories and other common beliefs; Mormonism, Scientology, and Satanism. Nuno also brings up "The Lodge" and we foray into a talk on cults and "incels". Bryan rants about famous institutions who have failed to help the world. We reminisce about our time in middle school along with some interesting classmates.

We pen up with a talk on sleep and how it's affected by drugs. We diverge into Badon's ineptitude in introducing this podcast and he starts bragging about an old presentation in school. The realm of ASMR is delved into at length & we talk about David's mom.

The Oscars are on tonight! This week we started off talking about movies such as the new Saw movie that will be coming soon, Spiral. We eventually start to get in deep conversation about music, our first concert, and boy bands. We end the show with some political talk about the controversial Iowa caucus.

From the Black Death to the Coronavirus, we continue to be ravaged by pandemics. We don’t know how to stop them and we don’t know all the facts, but we can’t help but talk about them. Following our talk on global doom, we talk about the helicopter crash that took place a couple weeks ago and the media’s insistence in mentioning only the most popular of the victims in their headlines. We also talk about a couple stories of missing children. On a lighter note, we talk game shows, Jerry Springer, Parasite, and...gutter oil.

This week we get comfy and talk video games, television, and film in the dark. The inevitable delays of popular video games, The Witcher on Netflix, Adam Sandler’s Uncut Gems, and new war film 1917 are all chatted about. Nuno introduces us to Ramy Yousef — an old classmate of Nuno's sister. Badon and Bryan chat about Star Wars for what feels like forever. We also talk about high school reunions and haunted cemeteries.

The As We Digress crew is back from our self-imposed hiatus. We jump right into some light conversation about tattoos, David's new job, and Badon's shirt & fave podcast. Remarkably, we go from that to bee allergies, ingrown toenails, and our experiences with high school health class. The subject of "anti-vaxxers" is broached and we jointly complain about people's refusal to vaccinate their children. Nuno rants about Wendy Williams and her attack on Joker star Joaquin Phoenix. David finishes up with his mother's terror over his and Badon's upcoming trip to Japan.

Listeners, Badon here, I sincerely apologize for the first two minutes of this podcast...

Anyway, this week we talked a lot about music: recent deaths in the hip-hop and rap world, cover songs, and the unfounded hate that Nickelback endures. We also touch on nepotism and other ways that people "make it" in regards to both the music industry and books, Adam Sandler, Adam Conover, Bill Maher, and some Salem talk. Badon brings up Death Stranding and the surprise television personality in the game, which leads to some talk of the video game industry.

This week opens up with some data mining talk which transitions to a conversation about film and television, per usual. We get a bit darker when we discuss the recent shooting in Jersey City and Badon’s disdain over peoples’ need to send out their “thoughts and prayers”. On a lighter note, David tells us about his enjoyment of pain, and Bryan talks about his traumatic story.
