As We Digress episodes

  • Episode 23 "Nuno’s GoT Journey"
Here we are with part 2 of last week’s episode. Nuno just finished watching Game of Thrones so we have a long talk about the show — walking through the whole series. Brace yourself, the GoT talk takes up more than half the episode. We also talk about the politicization of film and TV with a recent article on the Joker. Then we talk a bit about comedy and Nuno accuses Amy Schumer of joke stealing.

  • Episode 21 "Once Upon a Time in Derry"
The AWD crew continues off the heels of last week’s pod with another short one; not about conspiracies, but about film. We have the conversation we meant to have last week about Once Upon a Time in Hollywood — Tarantino’s ninth film. Badon also brings up IT — the Stephen King novel and the subsequent films including the upcoming IT Chapter 2 coming out on September 6th — and it’s intense and surprising subject matter. We also talk about Robert Pattinson and his turn to serious and dramatic roles in independent cinema in the last decade.

  • Episode 20 "Hollywood Sacrifice Conspiracies"
We start off on a happy note with current events such as the recent shootings that have occurred in recent weeks and Jeffrey Epstein's suicide. Epstein leads our way off the rails into conspiracy territory. We touch on a few peculiar conspiracies that we had first discussed prior to this recording after watching Hereditary; the suicides of popular musicians and the possibility of foul play. These conspiracies, of course, are absolute garbage, but still pretty interesting. Look out for next week's episode where we talk about Tarantino's "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" and Stephen King's "IT".

  • Episode 19 “The Toxicity of Politics”
We do apologize for the obscene intro to this podcast...it couldn’t be helped. Anyway...we foray into a talk about a new Netflix documentary that David and Bryan watched — The Great Hack. The doc brought up the interesting topics of big data and the unethical attaining of one’s personal data and intellectual property. David brings up the recent Democratic Debate which furthers our political talk. Badon finishes up with an update on his “dishwasher tale”.

  • Episode 18 "Sterility Bombshells w/ AWD"
Coming off of last week's episode, we talk a few more Salem stories that we forgot to share last week; some dorm room stories in particular. In popular news, Area 51 is to be stormed by a mass of Americans in an effort to unveil its secrets. Our discussion on it leads us to topics such as: El Chapo, big pharma and drug addiction, David's boy Elon, our constant use of cellphones, and random assortments of global news. We finish up with Nuno's reproductive health.

  • Episode 17 "Salem, and a Dishwasher’s Tale"
Badon opens up the pod with a long rant on his crappy day at work. He goes into how inconsiderate some of his coworkers are and how he got into an argument with the one whom he feels the most vitriol... Striving for a lighter tone, we open up about our recent trip to Salem, Massachusetts. We touch on the Witch Trials and Salem’s progression from a town of witch-hating Puritans, to a town of inclusive hippies who embrace the ways of the witch.

  • Episode 16 "I'll Put You in a Bear Suit"
It was David's episode this week. He touched on his adventures with a new mama opossum in his garbage can, which transitioned into a discussion about birth and the complications that come with it. We eventually digress into Elon Musk's - David's BFF - company, Neuralink, and how life changing it could be. David then leads Bryan down the rabbit hole of the morality of bee keeping. The conversation ultimately devolved into a movie talk; where we have conflicting views on the film, Midsommar, as a whole.

  • Episode 15 "Mom is a Freakin Monster"
We're back in business with a longer conversation starting with Facebook being sued by former employees which leads to a talk of desensitization and its later effects in life. David talks about his adventures in the Dark Web and gets excited at Nuno's mention of Tesla's stock. We also talk about some old conspiracies, a little veganism, Scientology, and...The Little Mermaid. The new live-action adaptation of the Disney film leads us to talk about incorporating other races and ethnicities to Disney productions and comic book characters -- often by honest means, but also for pandering and monetary gain. I don't know how....but our conversation takes a turn when fish is brought up and the dangerous deep sea fishing expeditions. The pod wraps up with the topic of dead pets and animals.

We then end the show with a little movie talk, such as Midsommar.

About As We Digress

From the publisher's feed

"As We Digress" is a podcast started by four uninformed friends who can't help but frequently go off topic. Every week David, Nuno, Badon, & Bryan get together for a chat about anything from current events, movies, hot-button topics, and more. AWD is a conversation amongst friends who have known one another for over a decade. If you're looking for deep and -- at times -- monotonous conversations...look no further!
