From 12-13 of September 2019 a conference took place in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia. Representatives from Assyrians around the world were invited to this conference to discuss methods and the mechanism of establishing an Assyrian Parliament in Exile. Mr Hermiz Shaheen representing AUA and Mr David David representing Assyrian Australian Federation were among the participants.

Mr Shaheen told SBS, only non political associations and bodies were invited to attend because political parties and specially in homeland are bound to and responsible to their parties and affiliates.

He also said a committee will be working to organise a second conference in six months time and hopefully with larger participation from more Assyrian bodies
