  • Phil Collier on 6's

Today we ask the big man himself Phil Collier what he thinks about the new 6's version of the game we are hoping to show the world.  Some people have openly shared their disgust with the version saying its not lacrosse, others see it as a great opportunity. We talk to Phil to get his take on it. This is the last episode of 2020 and season 1, thanks to everyone for showing their support for the show.

  • Dave Abini

Episode 11 we talk diversity in lacrosse. The BLM movement has made waves this year and sport is playing a big part in making sure people understand the meaning of equality.
Dave Abini takes a look at the game in the UK and gives us his opinion on how inclusive the sport is.

Special thanks to Dave for doing the episode, I struggled to find people to go on record and represent the BAME community. As soon as I discussed the idea with Dave he was onboard.

  • Will Baxter

I loved every minute of this episode, As a coach I feel goal keepers in lacrosse and probably most other sports get ignored, sounds harsh but they do, and we're all fine with it! Coaches don't know what to do with them, short sticks want to do nothing but pepper them, if they get a warm up they've done well and lets face it once we've given them out 2minutes of goal keeping knowledge were at a bit of a loss of what to do next.

Will addresses all aspects of the position and then some. I went into this episode really hoping that there was some logic to coaching goalies, that you can take anybody and apply a set of rules or a training regime to them and you can turn them into a shot saver. After talking with Will however i'm starting to realise that goalies are most probably born and not made. Where they're born however is another question!

Thanks to Will for coming on the show, he's a real unique character and I loved picking his brain and having a chat with him.

This Episode we catch up with welsh attacking Duo Sophy SOCO Coombes Roberts and Iona Dryden. I loved recording this episode, the girls are full of energy and really do bounce off each other. They had some really interesting answers to my questions and it was great to hear what Wales Lacrosse is getting up to.

  • Pete Wilson 2.0

Episode 8 we stay with Pete Wilson as he talks about how he like very few others has managed to make a career out of coaching lacrosse in the UK, Pete explains how he has effectively merged a number of positions to secure himself everybody's dream job. The other half of this episode focuses around mental health in sport. I feel very privileged to have got the opportunity to speak with Pete on this issue. Mental health is becoming more and more a focal point in daily discussions but its still not given the due care and attention it should be. Pete explains how he used lacrosse to help him through some seriously hard times in his life.

Thank you Pete for sharing your story with us and as usual it was a pleasure to have a good old fashioned catch up pal.
