Everyone seeks perfection in business and in life.
We aspire to be âperfectâ in everything we do. How is that even possible in a world that is imperfect? And who determines whatâs perfect and what is not? Todayâs environment is characterized by words like âuncertainâ, âunpredictableâ, âvolatileâ and âchaoticâ, with constant change as its theme.
So perfection-seeking is an impossible dream!
In this episode, I discuss why itâs crazy to spend time trying to achieve perfection and why success in my experience is all about trying things FAST.
My success in taking a startup to A $BILLION depended on being IMPERFECT FAST; constantly trying new things, learning from each try, and moving on.
Whatâs the first thing most people do when confronted with a challenge or a problem to solve?
They âGargle Googleâ! They look for how othersâBest in Classâhave addressed the issue and then they copy it.
Google Garlers call this being innovative and creative, but itâs NOT.
Copying others merely increases the âherd of samenessâ by one.
In this episode I discuss why Claptrap, Aspirations and Narcissism pervade the landscape of competitive differentiation to the point where âUn-Differentiationâ is really happening, leaving people with no clear idea of how one business is different from another.
I share my solution to this dilemma which is to determine how you can be the ONLY one who does what you do, not âbetterâ or âbestâ but THE ONLY.
Put The Textbook Down! is the mantra that professionals need to follow if they want to achieve breakaway performance.
Of course, education is essential to preparing everyone for a rewarding future.
But, In this episode, I assert that there comes a time when theoretical methods driven by formulae and algorithms need to be put aside in favor of the simple, practical and audacious Moves I made to:
âď¸build a business strategy to EXECUTE!
âď¸differentiate by being The ONLY One.
âď¸âcleanse the insideâ and reduce inside execution friction.
âď¸practice Line of Sight leadership for dysfunction-preventing role clarity.
âď¸let Goosebumps guide the recruitment process to build a team of people who âlove humansâ and who could deliver âgasp-worthyâ service experiences.
And many more epic Moves I made to grow a startup to A BILLION IN SALES!
In this episode, Roy argues that businesses are doing a mediocre job of declaring why people should buy from them as opposed to their competitors.
The use of CLAPTRAP word like âbetterâ, âbestâ and â#1â and ASPIRATIONS like âWeâre in business to save our home planetâ to describe what makes them special are subjective at best and mean very little to a person wanting to choose a company to do business with.
Roy shares his âONLY Statementâ innovation with you that clearly defines an organizationâs uniqueness at a granular level. âWe are the ONLY ones whoâŚâ dispels the CLAPTRAP and gives companies the guidance they need to clearly and honestly differentiate themselves from every other competitor they face.
In this episode, Roy discusses the Importance of being different in an insanely competitive world if you want to achieve superlative results.
He distinguishes between what being different IS and what it is NOT, and shares 9 really easy ways he used to stand apart from everyone around him to achieve his goals.
