  • Great Caesar on Audiotree Live
Great Caesar first caught the critical eye for releasing a concept video for “Don’t Ask Me Why” which centered on the modern fight for gender and sexual equality. The buzz around the video’s socially conscious message earned the Western-influenced indie folk band cred from varied celebrity endorsements and sent them on a whirlwind tour through SXSW along with some speaking gigs. The sextet settled down shortly afterward to focus on writing and recording their foot-stomping singalongs. The result is a project with soulful, sweet vocals over retro keyboard tones, lush floating guitars, and trumpet fanfare. Groovy, rumbling bass and efficient, ticking percussion structures their pop-forward folk.

  • Low Cut Connie on Audiotree Live
Low Cut Connie has a piano named Shondra. She’s traveled everywhere with the band, bringing their righteous rock n’ roll to dingy bars and swanky cocktail clubs across the US. Her savory, aged tonality is the pedestal around which Low Cut Connie’s irreverent jams swing. They add peppy gang vocals, a boastful stage presence and cheeky lyricism to create a live performance that is compulsively fun to watch.

  • Tigerwine on Audiotree Live
Tigerwine is a 2000’s alt rock-obsessed three-piece who want to be the loudest band in the world. They’re outgoing, personable dudes who accidentally invented their road favorite Crucial Mac N’ Cheese and have a deep love for the Iron Giant. They are all three born and raised in the conservative mountain area of Colorado Springs, and its strict environment has had a reactionary influence on the band’s culturally critical, scathingly loud music.

  • Enemies on Audiotree Live
Enemies is a mostly instrumental math-pop band who write cathartic tropical jams to ward off the dreary cloud-cover of their UK home. They're an exceptional group of musicians whose colorful guitar tones chatter back and forth with the rhythm section's shrewd beat construction while leaping across a multitude of time signatures. Enemies makes mathematical, nerdy rock feel sunny, reflective and downright optimistic. Though often extremely technical, their playful musical banter illuminates the strength of grasp this quartet has on writing pop hooks.

  • Ludy Dacus on Audiotree Live
Lucy Dacus is a witty songwriter whose solo tunes have evolved into twangy indie rock slow-burners with help from the rest of her talented quintet. She began writing mostly for herself, but met up with like-minded players in Richmond, Virginia who helped flesh out and grow her skeletal demos. Dacus is a soft-spoken, in-the-moment kind of player whose lyrics are open-ended but biographical. She possesses an acute observational focus, one that gifts her with the ability to tell stories that resonate with thoughtful universal truth.

  • Hodera on Audiotree Live
Hodera began as an outlet for Matthew Smith’s poetry put to folk music. At its core, the songwriter sentiment remains but the final product contains tinges of 2000’s alternative, emo and indie rock.

  • Penny and Sparrow on Audiotree Live
Penny and Sparrow make minimalist music with a lot of soul. Their emotional, lyrically heavy ballads contain soft spoken, ethereal harmonies sung over airy acoustic or electric guitar. The duo records with a full band and sometimes perform as such, but retain a preference for the intimacy and financial freedom of a two-piece. Get to know the band through moving, folksy tunes here on Audiotree Live.

  • Animal Years on Audiotree Live
Animal Years are an upbeat folk band who perform with rapid-fire, finger-picked guitars and percussion that ticks and thumps along to harmonious vocal arrangements. Lead vocalist Mike McFadden’s voice is soulful, kind and conversational as he hollers over the rolling chord progressions. The band provides ample support, laying a solid folk foundation for his pining texture to ring out over gang vocals and anthemic choruses.
