Today, the City Council approved hiring Brian Manley, who has been doing the job on an interim basis for more than 18 months. East Austin City Council Member Ora Houston announced today that she will not seek re-election in November. Houston said she made the decision after months of thinking and discussing with those in her inner circle. Three residents have previously announced plans to run for the District 1 seat. Houston first took office Jan. 6, 2015.
