  • Mazda Kills the CX-70 as Two-Row CX-90 Joins 2027 Lineup
Mazda Consolidates Its Midsize SUV Lineup

After last week’s leak, Mazda has finally announced the 2027 CX-90’s pricing and packaging. The big news? The midsize SUV now comes with two-row configurations, which means the Mazda CX-70 is officially out and the two nameplates are merging into one.

The new seating arrangements will be available on the CX-90 3.3 Turbo Premium Sport and 3.3 Turbo S Premium Sport. Both will retain the CX-90 name while offering buyers a more cargo-focused alternative to the standard three-row SUV.

    Mazda

    Modest Price Hike

Mazda isn’t going wild with price hikes this year. The base 3.3 Turbo Select now starts at $39,700, just $400 more than last year. The Preferred trim also climbs by $400 to $43,850, and the Premium Plus now sits at $50,670. If you want the Premium Sport, it’s $46,880 for two rows or $48,080 for three. The Turbo S Premium Sport? That’ll be $53,540 with two rows, $54,740 with three.

Compared with the 2026 CX-70, the new two-row CX-90 Premium Sport costs $46,880, just $100 more than the outgoing CX-70 3.3 Turbo Premium. The two-row Turbo S Premium Sport costs $53,540, also $100 more than its CX-70 counterpart. Of note, these are price comparisons between differently named trims, rather than exact equipment-for-equipment matches.

Mazda’s destination and handling charge remains $1,645, excluding taxes and other fees. That is unchanged even as the automaker adjusts vehicle pricing, unlike the destination-charge changes seen with the CX-5.

    Mazda

    What’s New for 2027?

Beyond the additional seating configurations, every Mazda CX-90 for 2027 receives a revised rear suspension crossmember and updated rear suspension bushings intended to improve passenger comfort over rough pavement.

Mazda is also expanding the color palette with Navy Blue Mica, Aero Gray Metallic, Melting Copper Metallic, and Zircon Sand Metallic. Melting Copper and Zircon Sand are exclusive to two-row models.

Some trims gain additional standard equipment. The Turbo Preferred adds roof rails, while the Turbo Premium Sport and PHEV Premium Sport gain Alexa Built-In. Mazda Online Navigation becomes standard on the Turbo Premium Plus and PHEV Premium Plus.

The CX-90 PHEV also receives an electric drive motor update with external insulation material intended to make low-speed operation quieter. Its 2.5-liter plug-in hybrid powertrain continues to produce 323 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, with an estimated electric range of up to 27 miles.

    Availability and Other Details

The 2027 CX-90 will continue to offer both mild-hybrid turbocharged inline-six powertrains and a plug-in hybrid option. The standard 3.3-liter turbo engine produces 280 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque on regular fuel, while the Turbo S version delivers up to 340 horsepower and 369 lb-ft on premium fuel.

All models feature an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive. Three-row configurations offer seating for up to eight, depending on the trim and seat arrangement.

Mazda has not provided a specific dealership arrival date in its pricing announcement. The new two-row configurations are intended to simplify the brand’s US midsize SUV range, giving buyers a choice between additional passenger capacity and more flexible cargo space without moving to a different nameplate.

  • Some Cadillac CT5-V Blackwings Had $18,000 Packages Missing Parts
    Performance Add-Ons

Manufacturers love tacking on more sales to customers; they find ways to entice buyers to spend more on their cars. This is even more common with performance or special-edition cars. Even though these cars are engineered and built with top performance in mind, car makers still offer extra performance goodies you have to pay extra for.

In Cadillac’s case, the CT5-V Blackwing already represents the most extreme version of this model. Yet, as an add-on, you can get the Precision Package, which will give you extra performance parts. Unfortunately, it seems Cadillac forgot to include a vital part of that package when delivering the car to some customers.

    Cadillac

    Missing Links

General Motors (GM) just released a Customer Satisfaction Program bulletin (N262573420). In collaboration with NHTSA, this bulletin covers a strange mistake on Cadillac’s part. According to the document, certain Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing owners who purchased the Precision Package have missing rear suspension toe links. The document describes the mishap as: “Certain vehicles listed above, equipped with the Precision Package, may be missing the supplementary performance toe links that were to be delivered in the vehicle’s trunk.”

The bulletin also lists the specific parts that were supposed to be included in the package but are missing:

    Quantity

    Part Name

    Part No.

    2

    Bolt

    11611276

    2

    Bolt

    11609598

Dealers are advised not to order the missing parts in stock and are told to identify the exact customers affected by this bulletin. Affected customers will be notified about getting the missing parts via a mailing advisory. The document also simply lists the fix procedure as putting the missing parts in the trunk of the car. The document does not list the exact number of affected cars, but GM believes only a small batch is affected.

    Cadillac

    Precision Pack

Cadillac’s Precision Package is an $18,000 performance-oriented add-on. It was primarily designed as a track-focused chassis upgrade that significantly alters how the CT5-V Blackwing performs and handles on track. It features a reworked, stiffened suspension system; new steering knuckles; the (missing) rear suspension links; carbon-ceramic brakes; and a digital software retune that changes how the limited-slip differential reacts.

  • A Two-Door Mitsubishi Pajero Would Be a Serious Ford Bronco Rival
    The Pajero’s Shorter Side

Mitsubishi recently brought back the Pajero for its fifth generation, but unlike previous generations, the latest iteration so far comes only in a five-door configuration. Introducing a three-door version could broaden its appeal while also offering a potentially more affordable alternative, similar to the five-door/three-door options (known as four-door/two-door in the U.S.) offered with the Ford Bronco and Jeep Wrangler.

Russia’s Kolesa, however, decided to take matters into its own hands and rendered what a three-door version of the Pajero could look like. While the rendering retains the looks of the new fifth-gen model, it features several changes, including a shorter wheelbase and rear overhang, longer front doors, a wider B-pillar with horizontal decorative detailing, and blacked-out pillars.

    Kolesa

    Small Package With Serious Hardware

A three-door Pajero would likely retain the body-on-frame platform shared with the Triton, a midsize pickup truck primarily sold outside North America. This means the Pajero gets traditional SUV architecture, unlike current models like the Eclipse Cross and Outlander, which use unibody platforms similar to those found in sedans.

Powering the Pajero is a 2.4-liter turbodiesel inline-four engine that makes 204 horsepower and 480 Nm of torque (354 lb-ft). It is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and Super Select 4WD-II (SS4-II). The SUV also features Active Yaw Control, a torque-vectoring technology Mitsubishi pioneered with the Lancer Evolution.

Another benefit of a three-door version would be improved off-road capabilities. The shorter wheelbase could improve its breakover angle and maneuverability on narrow trails. However, the trade-off would be reduced rear-seat access, passenger space, and cargo capacity.

    Kolesa

    No Ticket to America Yet

Mitsubishi said the fifth-gen Pajero will be sold in about 100 countries, but it didn’t mention North America. The last time the nameplate was sold stateside was in 2006, back when it was called the Montero. Eventually, the automaker shifted its focus to mainstream crossovers, which may have helped it stay financially viable but also diminished the brand enthusiasm once ignited by models like the Eclipse and Lancer Evo.

While a three-door Pajero would be a welcome addition to the lineup, the five-door version would likely account for most sales, similar to how the five-door Ford Bronco outsells its three-door counterpart. What U.S. buyers can expect from Mitsubishi, however, is a new midsize truck developed in collaboration with Nissan. It will allow Mitsubishi to re-enter the truck segment, which it left in 2009 with the Raider.

  • All Koenigsegg CC850s in America Recalled After One Rolled Away
A Rare Hypercar Faces a Recall

There are only a few Koenigsegg CC850s in existence, and that’s expected. With a price tag of over $3 million, the Swedish hypercar isn’t exactly for the masses.

Unfortunately, all CC850s delivered to the US are being recalled following a report of unintended vehicle movement. The issue involves the car’s electronic parking brake (EPB), which may fail to remain engaged under a specific combination of circumstances.

Koenigsegg filed the voluntary safety recall with the NHTSA last week, and it covers a grand total of seven cars. That might sound laughably tiny compared to your average recall, but for the CC850, that’s the entire American fleet.

    Koenigsegg

What Caused the Koenigsegg CC850 Recall?

The recall hits all 2025 and 2026 CC850s built between September 28, 2025, and August 2, 2026. Every single one of the seven US cars is on the list, and Koenigsegg figures all of them have the bug.

The problem occurs when the engine is running, and the transmission is in Reverse. Under these conditions, pressing the electronic parking brake button will not keep the brake engaged unless the driver continuously holds the button down.

The whole mess came to light on October 12, when Koenigsegg got word that a CC850 had rolled away after the driver tried to set the parking brake. The engine was still running, Reverse was engaged, and the driver hopped out while parked on a slope. Thankfully, nobody got hurt.

Koenigsegg opened an investigation that same day and conducted real-world testing and a failure-rate assessment through October 19. The company subsequently decided to conduct a voluntary safety recall.

The biggest issue, according to the documents, is that a driver might leave the car in Reverse, skip the footbrake, and trust the parking brake to do its thing. On a hill, that could mean your multi-million-dollar hypercar decides to take a solo trip downhill. It’s a software gremlin, not a busted part. The NHTSA also points out that this glitch isn’t even covered by the usual static parking brake tests.

    Koenigsegg

Free Software Fix Planned for All Seven Cars

Koenigsegg’s fix? A free software update for the parking brake, beamed straight to the car over the air. No need to haul your CC850 to the dealer – unless you really want to show it off.

The update was supposed to go live over the air last week, with letters to owners hitting mailboxes on October 29. Just goes to show, even a hypercar this rare isn’t immune to a software hiccup.

If an owner cannot complete the OTA update, an authorized Koenigsegg dealer will perform the same repair. The manufacturer also says it will reimburse owners who paid to have the condition remedied before the recall.

  • Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Up to 12 Inches of Snow Through Wednesday

Up to 12 inches of snow is forecast for the high country from 8 p.m. ET Tuesday under winter weather advisories from the National Weather Service, with the heaviest totals above 4,000 feet. Forecasters expect the snow level to keep dropping overnight, so some of the passes taking rain when the advisories begin could see snow by Wednesday morning.

Snow Totals For The Washington Cascades

Three NWS forecast offices cover the range, and all three advisories run from 8 p.m. ET Tuesday to 8 p.m. ET Wednesday. The largest totals sit in the Cascades of Pierce and Lewis counties, where the NWS Seattle winter weather advisory calls for 6 to 12 inches across Paradise, Mount Rainier, White Pass and Crystal Mountain. The same office expects 4 to 8 inches from Mount Baker south to Stevens Pass, and 3 to 8 inches above 4,000 feet in southern King County, though Snoqualmie Pass itself is forecast for only 1 to 3 inches with rain mixing in at times.

East of the crest, the NWS Spokane winter weather advisory puts 2 to 8 inches above 3,000 feet over Washington Pass, Loup Loup Pass, Holden Village and Stevens Pass, with the highest amounts along the crest. Farther south, the NWS Pendleton winter weather advisory covers the upper eastern slopes around Roslyn and Easton with 3 to 7 inches above 4,000 feet and periods of moderate to heavy snow.

How Falling Snow Levels Change Pass Driving Overnight

Spokane gives the clearest timeline, with a snow level near 4,000 feet on Tuesday evening falling to between 2,500 and 3,000 feet by Wednesday morning. That drop could bring snow to lower passes overnight. Snow is expected at higher elevations from the start of the advisories, with Stevens Pass named in two separate products and White Pass inside the zone with the largest totals.

Snoqualmie Pass, the I-90 crossing and the busiest route over the range, sits lower than the other major passes, and forecasters single it out for the smallest amounts and a rain and snow mix. The Spokane snow level figures cover the eastern slopes rather than Snoqualmie, but if a similar drop reaches the I-90 summit overnight, Wednesday morning traffic could meet snow on pavement that was wet a few hours earlier.

What It Means For Round Trips Across The Cascades

Washington posts traction and chain requirements pass by pass, and they can change between an outbound crossing on Tuesday evening and a return on Wednesday, so the advisories send drivers to the WSDOT travel page for current conditions.

The Spokane advisory also names Washington Pass on SR 20, the North Cascades Highway, which fully reopened on June 14 after repairs to damage from last winter’s storms. WSDOT closes the highway every winter because of avalanche risk, with the date set by conditions rather than the calendar, so its pass page is worth checking before any trip planned across the northern Cascades this week.

  • Ford's Godzilla V8 Faces Federal Probe Covering Nearly 55,000 Vehicles
Ford’s Godzilla V8 Faces NHTSA Investigation

Engines seem to be under the microscope lately, and Ford’s Godzilla V8 is the latest to get the spotlight. This 7.3-liter beast, usually found powering heavy-duty trucks and commercial haulers, is now being investigated by the NHTSA for alleged camshaft and lifter failures.

According to the NHTSA’s document, the Office of Defects Investigation cracked open a defect petition (DP26011, for those keeping score). The original complaint landed back in June, asking the agency to dig into possible engine gremlins lurking in several Ford models.

    Dave's Auto Center/YouTube

Which Ford Vehicles Could Be Affected?

The probe covers about 54,787 vehicles, including the 2021 and 2022 Ford E-350, plus the 2021 F-59 and F-750. All of them pack the 7.3-liter gasoline V8 – better known as the Godzilla engine.

The complaint claims that when oil pressure drops to around 6 psi at low idle, the lifter rollers and camshaft lobes start to eat themselves alive. Let things go too far, and the engine could grenade itself without warning – even at highway speeds.

The petition goes further, saying Ford knew about the problem and quietly pushed out a software update to bump idle speed to about 1,000 rpm. But, according to the complaint, there was no recall or heads-up for owners.

However, it’s important to note that the agency’s first summary only mentions a single reported incident. No crashes, no fires, no injuries, no fatalities. So, that big number of vehicles? It doesn’t mean all of them have actually failed.

    LOJ Conversions on YouTube

    What Happens Next?

Right now, the NHTSA is just looking into the petition. That doesn’t mean they’ve decided the engine is actually faulty. The agency will dig into the details and then choose whether to move forward or shut things down.

It’s an important difference: just because there’s an investigation doesn’t mean Ford has to recall anything yet. Regulators still have to weigh the claims and evidence before making any big moves.

The summary doesn’t say how many vehicles have actually had this failure, or even if the oil issue is really to blame. What happens next depends on what the agency finds as it digs deeper.

  • 2027 Jeep Gladiator Now Costs Nearly $10,000 More Than The Toyota Tacoma

Jeep unveiled a new 35-inch tire package for the 2027 Gladiator this week, which brings improved off-roading capabilities to three trims. But the rest of the 2027 Gladiator lineup has not been neglected, either. Across most of the lineup, Jeep has added new features, updated accessories, and revised the trim structure. A new base trim has joined the lineup, but the Gladiator has received a fairly significant price bump, as every version now costs over $40,000.

  • Here’s a look at all the 2027 changes by trim level.

    Sport S

The Sport S becomes the new base trim, replacing the previous Sport variant. This model comes with a seven-inch TFT color instrument cluster, passive entry, all-terrain tires, and 17-inch machined aluminum wheels.

    Sahara

One step above the Sport S in price is the Sahara, which gets a new vented power dome hood and side steps. A 20-inch Premium Wheel Package for this trim adds machined 20-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, heavy-duty Dana 44 axles, and a Trac-Lok limited-slip rear differential.

    Willys

The Willys gains a standard black hardtop. Other than that, its only major change is the availability of the limited 35-inch Tire Package for this model.

    Rewind

There are no major changes for this special-edition model, which features nostalgic neon paintwork and graphics. It also has Iced Blue and Plum interior accents.

    Mojave

The Mojave now comes with body-color fender flares, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a standard body-color hardtop, and embedded navigation. Buyers can also opt for the Jeep Performance Parts Mojave, which gets Moper accessories like a triple-hoop grille guard, cold-air intake, and Camel Katzkin leather seats with Terracotta stitching.

    2026 Jeep® Gladiator Mojave X

    Stellantis

    Mojave X

Jeep has added a standard cargo management package to this variant. It includes a 115V bed power outlet, roll-up tonneau cover, lockable and removable rear underseat storage bin, and bed-mounted Trail Rail System.

    Rubicon

The Rubicon gets many of the same upgrades as the Mojave, including heated seats and a heated steering wheel. Outside, body-color fender flares and a black hardtop are standard.

    Rubicon X

This highly capable model comes with the same cargo management system as the Mojave X.

In addition to these primary trim updates, there are also special-edition models based on these trims that have been upgraded. The Gladiator Altitude, based on the Sport S, comes with 20-inch wheels, wide-track Dana 44 heavy-duty axles, a limited-slip differential, and dark exterior accents. Finally, the Gladiator High Altitude makes a return as an enhancement of the Sahara trim level. It gets the regular Altitude’s updates as well as body-color bumpers/door handles and Nappa leather seats.

The 2027 Gladiator’s extensive color palette includes Ghost and Limited Edition Gum 31, which are new additions for this model year.

There’s a price to pay for the Gladiator’s brilliant off-road capabilities. The best-selling vehicle in this segment, the Toyota Tacoma, starts at just $34,950 in Double Cab guise. It doesn’t have 4×4 equipped as standard, but even adding that option ($3,200) keeps its base price well below that of the Jeep’s. In XtraCab form ($32,545), the Tacoma is now almost $10,000 cheaper than the Gladiator.

The Toyota also comes with a more efficient 2.4-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine, and it’s much more refined for daily driving. The Jeep is a better off-roader as standard, but it’s a chore to drive on normal roads.

Chevy’s Colorado is another cheaper alternative. For roughly the price of a base Gladiator, you can get a Colorado Trail Boss, which comes with an off-road suspension and two-inch suspension lift. Its 310-hp TurboMax engine is also more powerful than the Jeep’s dated V6.

These rivals don’t offer the iconic design, removable doors, and customization of the Jeep, but they’re more complete pickups that don’t demand the same compromises.

  • 2028 Range Rover Spy Shots Reveal Changes You'll Barely Notice

Over the course of 2026, the Autoblog spy photographers have spotted numerous heavily camouflaged development mules for the facelifted Range Rover SUV, and their latest sighting calls into question the extensive concealment methods JLR employed. See, previous prototypes have worn plenty of cladding, particularly on the front end, disguising the grilles and intake openings, but this mule appears to have production-ready bodywork, and it’s almost identical to the current design. Ultimately, this shouldn’t be much of a surprise since the all-electric Range Rover was recently unveiled with looks that closely mirror the existing combustion Range Rover, but there’s another possibility.

2028 Range Rover Prototype Could Be An SV

    Autoblog/SH Proshots

As a core product, it makes sense to leave the refreshed Range Rover’s styling mostly alone, and the more revealing bodywork here suggests the only significant front-end changes will be the headlights. Then again, JLR has been camouflaging parts of this vehicle that appear to be staying unchanged, and the Range Rover EV doesn’t have a new lighting signature either. What is new is the wheel design on this prototype, fitted with Pirelli P Zero tires measuring 285/45R22. Behind the wheels are Brembo brake calipers, and through the glass, we can see a roll cage inside the cabin, possibly suggesting that JLR is testing a high-performance model, possibly the Range Rover SV (the roll cage won’t be offered on any production Range Rover, but it may be a hint of how hard this prototype gets pushed around the Nürburgring Nordschleife). The tire profile matches the footprint of SV, SV Black, and SV Ultra variants, but it should be noted that the same dimensions are found on the sidewalls of Autobiography variants too, including the plug-in hybrid model. Thus, this confirms only that we’re not looking at a base SE variant, while the lack of a charge port indicates it’s a combustion-only model. Elsewhere, we see chunkier, wider side skirts, with the rear bumper swelling to match.

    Autoblog’s Take

    Autoblog/SH Proshots

View the 3 images of this gallery on the
    original article

The current Range Rover was first introduced in 2022, so it’s starting to age. However, the SUV has been consistently popular worldwide, and changing too much might turn some traditionalists away, so JLR is doing just enough to ensure that the keen-eyed can spot the styling updates while the average person instantly recognizes the SUV as a Range Rover. Inside is where we expect more obvious changes, with a new driver information display and a revised center touchscreen, possibly connected to each other under one curved panel. Under the hood, the current powertrain lineup is expected to undergo similarly mild updates, with more efficiency and power likely the only major changes. If this is an SV we’re looking at, that means a 4.4-liter BMW-derived V8 (currently producing up to 607 horsepower). Elsewhere in the range, a 3.0-liter straight-six with 395 hp and a PHEV version with 542 hp should carry over too. We’ll bring you more info as we get it, but the new Range Rover SUV is now only expected to be available for the 2028 model year, which means a reveal will happen late in 2026 or in the first half of 2027.

  • Tesla Gives Its Troubled 4680 Battery Another Shot in the Roadster
    Strike One: Model Y

At the 2020 Battery Day, Elon Musk took the stage and announced that the EV maker would move away from 2170 cells to 4680 cells. These new and “improved” batteries eventually made their way into the packs of 2023 Tesla Model Ys and later the Cybertruck.

It looked promising, with Musk touting that the 4680 form factor (46mm in diameter and 80mm tall) would deliver up to five times the capacity of a 2170 cell and up to six times the power. In addition to the larger size, Tesla also considered improving its chemistry, with a high-nickel cathode and a silicon anode.

However, once the 4680s left the production line and reached consumers, as with the 2023 Model Y AWD, Tesla owners were disappointed: the battery delivered poor charging performance, and Tesla canceled the 4680 version of the Model Y entirely.

Strike Two: Cybertruck and Cyber Cells

After the Model Y, the Tesla Cybertruck was slated to receive the new 4680s in its battery pack. When Tesla announced the Cybertruck, the crowd was disappointed to learn the electric pickup would use revised versions of the 4680 cells, dubbed Cybercells. Tesla said this second outing had 10% higher energy density, but was about on par with the 2170 cells that it replaced.

On top of the only modest bump in energy density, customers also complained that charging performance was still subpar, with charging times stretching beyond 30 minutes from 10% to 80% state of charge. Tesla did try to rectify the issue with a software update and roll out its 800-volt charging standard, but that did little to improve the Cybertruck’s reputation at the plug.

    Strike Three?: Roadster

After the October 15 launch of the Tesla Roadster this year, sources learned it uses 4680 cells. Of course, most people’s eyes were glued to the stunt demo with the thrusters, but hardcore Tesla fans were wincing at the fact that Tesla’s still trying to make its 4680 work after all this time.

In an interview with Hagerty, Tesla’s chief of engineering, Lars Moraby, said the Roadster uses “special cells” with special chemistry. That, in turn, will improve charging performance over the Cybertruck. The Roadster’s 4680 cells use aluminum instead of steel to house the cells, improving heat dissipation and theoretically improving charging performance.

The main reason charging performance on the Cybertruck and Model Y was so poor was subpar thermal management. The Roadster will use double-sided cooling jackets and cool each 4680 cell individually. Improving the cooling system improves not only charging performance, but also real-world performance. Moraby said that Tesla Roadster owners will be able to push the car on track for about 20 minutes at a time, with a 10% to 80% charge happening in just 10 minutes.

For now, that is all claims and yet-to-be-delivered promises. Tesla has also yet to deliver the Roadster to consumers, even asking for a hefty sum from interested clients who want to reserve one right now. Early adopters might think the brand has finally fixed its 4680 format once and for all, but I think the rest of us should wait until Tesla actually delivers the Roadster after all these years.

  • 2027 Kia EV6 Is No More Expensive Than The 2026 Model

We’re now in the final stretch of 2026, and that means we’re getting more pricing announcements for the new model year, with the latest update coming from Kia and its EV6 compact electric crossover. For 2027, the EV6 maintains base pricing and destination charges from the 2026 model year, starting at $37,900 (plus $15,45 for destination). Built in Georgia, the EV6 avoids several costly tariffs, and the carryover pricing applies to all variants in the lineup, which has not lost or gained any trims for 2027. In fact, everything is the same as it was for 2026.

The Kia EV6’s lack of evolution for 2027 is not a surprise because the previous model year underwent multiple convenience and style refinements, including the addition of plug & charge and the deletion of the Tech Package on the EV6 Light Long Range model. The EV6 also gained Wolf Gray and Glacier White Pearl exterior colors and a two-tone Saturn Black/Mild Toffee Brown interior scheme, deleting Ivory Silver for the bodywork and Hunter Green/Misty Gray inside. Around the middle of the year, Kia also added the option of a black roof to its new white and gray hues. 2025 also saw a significant styling, driving range, and infotainment processing speed update, along with a built-in NACS charge port and new door handles, so there’s no need to update the EV6 for a while.

As before, rear-wheel-drive models have a single rear motor, while AWD models add a motor to the front axle. The Light gets a 63kWh battery (delivering 237 miles of range), while the Long Range, Wind, and GT-Line variants use an 84kWh battery, with differing power figures for the latter depending on whether it’s a rear-drive (up to 319 miles of range) or AWD version (up to 295 miles of range). The base EV6 makes 167 horsepower and 258 lb-ft, while the Long Range version with RWD makes 225 hp and 258 lb-ft, and the AWD model delivers 320 hp and 446 lb-ft. Those figures remain the same across all trims, so the base EV6 does 0-60 mph in 8.3 seconds, higher RWD trims take 7.3 seconds, and dual-motor models take 5.0 seconds. AWD models also increase top speed from 115 mph to 117 mph.

The Kia EV6 shares its underpinnings and tech with the Hyundai Ioniq 5, but they’re hardly on an even keel in the sales race, with the Ioniq 5 selling over five times as many examples this year. Therefore, Kia can’t really afford to ask more for the 2027 EV6, and dealers will likely be keen to move old inventory. With no changes for the new year, the prudent choice is to look for a lightly used 2026 model at a discount, but it’s also perfectly reasonable to buy new and take advantage of the full warranty coverage, which includes a basic limited warranty for five years/60,000 miles and coverage for the EV system and battery for the first 10 years/100,000 miles.
