Hilary A. Morgan is the CEO of the YWCA Alaska. She is nationally recognized as a leader in the fields of homelessness, housing, diversity and women’s issues.  No stranger to the for-profit world Morgan spent her younger years on Wall Street and founded Resourceful Results, LLC, a program and systems architecture company specializing in transformational solutions to persistent social justice challenges with clients in New York, Washington, DC and Alaska.   

Gary Holthaus has served as the Anchorage Unitarian Universalist Fellowship called minister since 2012. Originally ordained as a Methodist minister, Gary has also made a living as a poet, author, educator and non-profit administrator, and has been involved in environmental and social issues for 60 years. He arrived in Alaska in 1964. He earned a Bachelor's Degree and a Master's Degree in Sacred Theology from Boston University. Dave Kuiper moved to Alaska in 1974 with his wife, Darlene, and worked in construction for more than 24 years. He served 14 years as senior pastor for Crosspoint Community Church and has been director of Alaska Medical Missions, a Faith-Based Community Initiatives Liaison, and Certified Pastoral Counselor and Life Coach. Dave serves on the board of the Anchorage Coalition to End Homelessness. He joins us today to discuss his work with the Safe Shelter program that offers a safe place for homeless Anchorage families to sleep during the cold months.

Deborah Bock received a B.A. in psychology and an MSW from the University of California at Berkeley. She worked as a bilingual (Spanish-English) school social worker for ten years in New York and California before moving to Alaska. Currently, Deborah teaches Spanish at UAA, she volunteers as a mentor for refugees arriving from Africa, and she is actively involved in the movement to bring trauma-sensitive practices to schools. Deborah has been a friend of AUUF since 2000 and a member since 2005.

Dr. Stephen Haycox is a professor emeritus at the University of Alaska Anchorage. He earned a BA (summa cum laude at Seattle University), an MA and a Ph.D. (University of Oregon) in History. His honors include the Distinguished Teaching Award from the UAA Alumni Association in 1989, the Edith R. Bullock Prize for Excellence from the University of Alaska in 2002, and the Alaska Governor's Humanities Award in 2003. The Alaska Historical Society recognized him as Alaska Historian of the Year in 2003. He regularly contributes commentary for the Alaska Dispatch News, as he did previously for the Anchorage Daily News.

Cliff Groh is a lifelong Alaskan, a lawyer, and a writer. He is also Chair of Alaska Common Ground. He has been on the board of Alaska Common Ground for more than 20 years. Cliff has worked on oil tax legislation while serving as Special Assistant to the Commissioner of Revenue (1987--1990) He was also a principal legislative assistant on the legislation creating the Permanent Fund Dividend in 1982. He was an invited participant to the Walker-Mallot administration's forum on Alaska's future--held in June 2015 at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
