This was supposed to be a game the Colorado Avalanche could hang their hat on. Going on the road against one of the hottest teams in the league in the Toronto Maple Leafs while you yourself are another one of the league's hottest teams. What happened at Scotiabank Arena stays at Scotiabank Arena. At least that should be the mindset of the Avs after getting crushed by the Leafs, 8-3.

There is not much good that can be taken out of this one. It all started even before the opening puck drop when it was announced that Darcy Kuemper was injured and would not suit up. It was downhill from there.

The one positive? The Avs are right back at it Thursday night to attempt to redeem themselves against the lowly Montreal Canadiens. Let's hope they do.
