Well the Colorado Avalanche were going to lose a game at some point in the post season, and you could argue you would have rather they lost in this fashion since it doesn't hurt as bad as a close game or losing in a playoff OT game. The Avs looked disjointed for most of the game. Some of that is to the credit of the St. Louis Blues who played a much better game than they did in Game 1. We knew this was going to be a dog fight and a chess match and the Blues moved their pieces in a much different fashion than Game 1 and it showed.

But for the Avalanche, they could never sustain any positive momentum they sometimes had in a shift. It would never carry over to the next shift. It was some good here, but a lot of bad over there. No consistency and that showed too.

Now the series heads back to St. Louis where the Avs will need to win on their ice to take back the home ice advantage.
