We should start by saying the Avalanche did the most important thing in Game 3 against the St. Louis Blues and that was win the game, giving them a 2-1 lead in the series and taking back home ice. Now that we have that out of the way Game 3 in all likelihood will be a tipping point in the series. Up until now both teams have been pretty much on their best behavior. But two plays in Game 3 speak to a different tone.
The first was Samuel Girard getting checked hard into the boards by Ivan Barbashev. Girard immediately went down, did not return and we later found out he will be out the remainder of the year with a broken sternum.
A little later, Nazem Kadri, going for a loose puck right in front of the net, collided with Blues defenseman Calle Rosen who was also trying to play the puck. The momentum of both players carried them into goalie Jordan Binnington who also left the game and did not return. We found out later Binnington will not be back for the remainder of this series.
The talk on social media, because it's Nazem Kadri, is that the play on Binnington was deliberate and dirty. Why? Simply because he wears the name Kadri on his back.
Chris and Kyle break it all down as well as give their Sound Check for Game 3
