The Colorado Avalanche had been hitting their stride lately, playing a "full 60" over the past several games. It was going to be difficult to do the same thing against a very good New Jersey Devils team, and New Jersey showed you why early in the game, building a 3-0 and then a 5-1 lead.

But the Avalanche also showed why they are a dangerous team, scoring three goals in just over two minutes to pull within one.

They couldn't get over the hill however and the Devils would eventually put the game away, 7-5.
